Well Tika's first 24 hours in his new home have been interesting . He's quite the boy and I must say I'm already deeply in love with the little sweetheart. I have never heard a kitty howl the way he does except when watching My Cat From Hell on TV. Every time he sees me or Ayanna he starts to howl but the strange thing is that even while he's hissing and howling he'll still let me pet him. He especially likes the top of his head rubbed. When I do that he stops with the sound effects and listens to what I'm saying . When I stop he starts up again. I managed to get some insulin into him tonight which I couldn't do yesterday. If all goes well I'll attempt to test him tomorrow. It really goes against everything I 've learned about Feline Diabetes to shoot without testing but I couldn't not give him nothing. The vet he had had him on 4 units a day. I gave him one unit.

I can't believe it. Just as I'm typing this guess who comes upstairs and is lying just outside the entrance to the living room. My baby boy Tika . He vocalized a bit and now is lying down perfectly relaxed . I'm so happy! I guess he's starting to trust me a bit. The day I met him he let me pick him up and snuggle with him but his foster mom was right there.

Malachi and Tika seem to have made a truce already. I wouldn't say they are friends yet but they don't go crazy when they see each other. They are both quite big boys. Tika weighs in at 14 lbs and Malachi at 18. I think they are going to have a healthy respect for each other.

Tika is going meet Dr Doug on Tuesday for the first time. I hope by that time Tika will let me put him in his kitty carrier. When I called and made the appointment the receptionist said"Well I knew it wouldn't be too long til you got a new kitty and I'm not surprised you got a Diabetic."

So all and all it's been a great first day. Strides have been made. Tika is now in the livingroom and was actually playing with a toy. Malachi is lying on the couch being himself.

Have a great night everybody. Will check in tomorrow. May all your kitties dream in bues and greens.

Hi barb,
It's great that Toms is settling in, I'm sure it won't be too long before you are able to test him.
Sending your little man some scritches.
