Food post
Hello! I'm back! Not such a great thing but oh well.
I recently posted in the main forum about foods for Grem as he was recently diagnosed with early stage kidney disease. BUT... His PS BGL keeps on rising and rising, with in between tests being great! He's on 0.1u of Lantus. This morning he hit yellow! Yellow!
I haven't seen a yellow from him in so long! Unfortunately I'm at work so can't get home to test mid shot.
Full story... He has been regulated for a long, long time until two to three months ago when he became hungrier and started losing weight rapidly, he was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and put on medication. Testing a month later showed his hyperthyroid under control. Another month (last week) and and he's getting hungrier and losing weight again so back for tests. Hyperthyroid is still under control and early stage CKD detected as well as a lump where his thyroid gland is. Possibly cancer but no diagnosis as yet. I've since found two more lumps, one on his back and one on his inner thigh.
From what I can tell, he doesn't need more insulin, his hyperthyroid is under control and it's not the food I'm giving him. What could be making his PS BGL rise, as well as making him hungry ALL the time and losing weight?? He's a big cat and he's down to 4.6kg (10.1lb??) last time he was weighed. He's skin and bone
I don't know what do and I don't think my vet has any idea either.
Unfortunately I'm strapped for money at the moment so heaps of testing isn't viable right now. I've got my civvies both booked in for dentals next month and then I'm in debt. If there is something it definitely could be, I'll manage and get the test done.
Thanks so much for getting through my huge post!
