Went into high blacks and reds last night, but is coming down quickly again today: 139 points per hour or so.

She's decided she doesn't like FF Savoury Salmon anymore, so I gave her Wellness Beef and Salmon LC6 (the old one, so OK re: phosphorous) @+2 and +3. The LC 6 vs FF LLC1 doesn't seem to make much of a difference to her as far as stalling goes, though. She's determined to go down, I guess... :-)

Hope everyone surfs safe tonight so that all the beans can get some sleep! :-)

She had a poo (way too stinky and loose: fault of increased Miralax; thank goodness the AVJ comes this week). Then we had MAJOR PUKAS from the straining. Then BG 56. I've given her 2 tsp of CIK Mack Jack and Sam HC 18 gravy: she's really looking for food. Will test and then may have to give glucose.

Note: We're using AlphaTrak so take action number is 68.

She's come up: tested too quickly as couldn't tell time (laughing at myself here):

+4 = 56 2 tsp HC18 gravy (had just puked up after +3 and poo)
+4:13 = 76 1 tsp Wellness BeefSalmon LC6
+4:32= 81 1 tsp Wellness BeefSalmon LC6 + fp

Tested too early as lost track of how to tell time. Gave 18 gravy as that was easily on hand from the other day. I'm surprised how quickly this has brought her up (compared to previous episodes). She's having an awful day with the too-soft poo, pukas, and now shark dive.

I now know that she gives a high power purr when she's distressed: when she tested 56 she revved it up and kept as close to me as possible. Poor little girl. And she has had it with pokes! She's made that very clear...some TLC clearly needed.

Aw, poor Girlie. I'm glad you have a good supply of TLC for her!

I always find my relation to time is odd when I'm doing those serial tests--I feel like I'm waiting, waiting, waiting for the next test, but when the incident has passed, I can't believe it's three hours later already.

Yeah, I enter a time warp when she goes low; I no longer panic (thank goodness!), but time just goes in to slow motion...and waiting those 15 minutes seems like an eternity...

Could the pukas post-poo have lead to a BG level drop? I would have thought that would have raised her BG levels. She literally puked, and then five minutes later when I tested her, she was at 56. Hmm....

Poor lil girl :(. I wouldn't discontinue the Miralax when you start the AVJ. With as much as she struggles I would back off the Miralax a bit and add the a little aloe and see/saw those back and forth until you find a good balance. Just my opinion :):bighug:
Thanks for the tip, Lizzie: I was wondering how to coordinate that. Given this drop and my schedule this week, I think I'll wait for the weekend until the AVJ in case it drops her.

I've clearly lost all sense of reason today: I don't know why I gave her LC 6 when I should have given her MC or HC when she was 76 and 81 @ +4:13 and +4:32.

So!
+5 = 52: gave 1 tsp HC 22
+5:30 = 67: gave HC 22 and 2 ml glucose

Today is not my day for being a good cat mom; I can't seem to think straight today... :(

You're doing fine! Girlie is having a bit of a rough day and is certainly taking you on a wild ride, but you are keeping up with her and doing what needs to be done. :bighug:

I can't stay up too much longer, but I'll keep an eye out for the next test-- up now, Girlie!

Poor Girlie, feel better soon. Farrah, I hope she goes easy on you soon and stays away from the blacks and nose dives!

I don't know if vomiting could make bg go low in a cat, but I have seen that happen to a human before.

Thank you so much! We've done this so often, you'd think I have it down pat. I've even printed out the guidelines and taped them to the wall next to the hypo kit; but today I seem to have lost the ability to read as well as think. o_O At least this means I can sleep tonight, I guess, after the reducie!

Please go to sleep yourself: I'm sure we'll be fine now that I've given her the glucose and the HC food.

Only problem is that I have to go in to work this afternoon, but I'll go in late after she's had two good tests without food influence. At least I remembered that one! :)

@=5:50 = 182

The glucose did its job. I gave her 2 tsps of CIK Chick magnet (16) gravy; I'll see where she is at the next test and stop food to see if she continues to stay okay without food. Let me know if I should still give food or try the without food influence now. I can't seem to think straight. :-)

Yep, no food now that she's up; see if she can keep her head above water for a couple tests.

182 is a much more relaxing number! Just remains to be seen if it's the high carb talking, or if she's revving up a bounce from all the dips today.

Hope you can go to work without worrying today-- Girlie, please behave yourself for a few hours!

[ETA: and yes, I think I am going to have to sign off now, but I'm so glad to see Girlie headed in the right direction before I go!]

Thank you so much, again, for your help and support! I hope you have a wonderful evening... :-)

+5:30= 67 2 ml glucose + HC22
+5:50= 182 2 tsp gravy (16)
+6:20 = 243 No food
+7 = 196, so she's come down a little bit without food.

She had some glucose syrup at +5:30, so she could be coming down from that as well.

Not sure whether I should feed her or see how she goes, as she is at blue now. Any thoughts?

Haven't made it out the door yet. I would test again at +7.5 and if she's still dropping (more than 20-30 points), give her a little food.
