Well BFG still doing great, I've been testing twice daily, can't wean myself of that, he throws the occasional blue bg but mostly sticking to the greens, I've been trying to get him to eat lower P fuds and we seem to have managed that, interestingly its higher in carbs around the 5.5% mark (a lot of his other foods are around the 2-3%) and I think it's coinciding with BG in the 80's, I've been lax and haven't been keeping notes, mostly because I've been busy with a houseful of friends again for almost the last two weeks. I'm going to keep notes going forwards and see if my suspicions are founded.

I had to resort to freeze dried toppers to get him to start eating the lower P, and hilariously the next morning he demanded topping on his regular breakfast, after five months of loving it just as it came, now he wants topping with all his meals:rolleyes:

Last week we finally got our Chuck Chalet and prepared an area for our chucks, I'll introduce you George's newest 'siblings', meet the girls
Trudy, Blu, Ginger and hiding behind Ginger and Blu, Daisy. You'll notice that George has donated his bowl for their food, he has a nice new one that my nephew and niece got him when they last visited.
The Girls are 6 weeks old, so no eggs for a while we have been finishing off some landscaping and they should shortly be moving to their permanent run.

Of course he would! He probably never realized that this was an option, but now that you have so generously offered him topping, why not ask for it with every meal. :cat:

....and that's very nice of BFG to give his old bowl to his new siblings. Has he seen them yet? And, if so, what does he think?

It is so nice to know that George is doing so great and that he shares his belongings with his feathered siblings. How much fun is that going to be to gather your own eggs in the morning?! I have been telling DH I want chickens for a while now. I will name them all after First Lady's. ;)

It sounds like your home is the go to place for visitors. Does it take a long time to get a reservation? LOL

Nice to see a report from the Falls. Smart George. If you can have sprinkles all the time, why would you not? ;)

My sister has chickens. She adds a few each spring. I think she has about 24 now. She used to just give the eggs away, but a friend talked her into selling them, and now she's got quite a little business going - can't keep up with the demand!

PMBG 79, now he is just showing off he must have seen me writing his condo:)

George has met the girls, we sat outside watching them when we got them home, they were a bit shy, BFG sat down between us and watched with us he seemed intrigued but unsure. This morning though I spotted our neighbours cat Riso, watching them from the wall, I had to shoo him away don't trust him with them they are still too small and I have seen him frequently hunt rabbits:eek:

Tonight the girls put themselves to bed all by themselves its taken a few days of rounding them up but seems they've figured it out:)

I know right!
We moved out 5 years ago, but we have been living in an apartment in the nearby town for just about 4 while we restored/built our place (funny, not so many visitors there), since we got moved in we have been getting a steady stream, we have plenty of room and it's nice to have our friends and family visit, sometimes though it seems like we are running a B&B. We have some more friends coming out at end of June, and then I think we have openings LOL.

What a great report! Deputy George, any time you want to have a change of routine, come visit the lagoon.
Love the pic of the hens. It's really neat that George accepts them as siblings and not as something to eat!
I wish I could entice Rusty to eat with toppings, but he hates anything added to his fuds.

Enjoy your house and your guests, Gill.

Hugs, scritches, and clucks,

Ella & Rusty
