Did a second reading to confirm. It was correct.

I know I am supposed to stall and see whether he is going up... but should I leave him this low without food?
Besides, if I give him HC he will go up.... But I also don't want to dismiss the low value... and it is the evening here... bad time for vet ER....
 
Is he eating okay and feeling well? Looks like you may have had a couple of issues with food/vomiting over the last couple of days.

ETA Morning Wendy (well my morning anyway :)) I have a dog being dropped off for holidays soon so I’ll leave you to it.
 
He's on his way up. Your call if you can monitor, have strips and HC food. You've shot lower than this before.
 
I went ahead and gave his full dose. Wish me luck!

I am not sure that he is on his way up, because only after the fact I clicked that treat is also food <duh> It is just an automated process, that I just think as "testing". Either way he went up fast enough if it was the treats so I'll keep an eye. Since he was plenty highat +7 it didn't occured to me to do any more tests. He has been sneaking these late cycles "second dips", or late cycle clearing bounce low numbers... I need to remember it! I am not sure anymore when it is a bounce...yellows use to be good readings not too long ago :)
 
Unless you gave a really high carb treat, it's not likely to boost him 30 points. Also, it takes 20-30 minutes for the food from carbs to hit the bloodstream so if you restested sooner than that, you are OK.
 
Good to know, thanks! It was jusy a few freeze dried treats... so maybe we are already starting a new bounce <<sigh>>
 
176 at +1... definetely bouncing.... the issue is whether he will come crashing down in the end of the night cycle...I guess I better set an al alarm for +8 or something...
