Hi from a fellow Canuck.

Emmett likes to hang out in the pink zone!

He looks like he still maybe clearing from that green and getting used to some lower numbers (yellows). You may find him a little more reactive to the yellow numbers now that he has seen green. His body is still adjusting and trying to find a new normal and the liver sometimes likes to panic and through out some high numbers.

I might hold for another cycle or two to confirm that he will not go back down to blue or green on this dose. Have you decided on SLGS or TR yet?

Haha, I'm not really sure the main differences between SLGS and TR. In concept, I don't see why I can't do TR, but I'm not home during the day to test, so I guess I would be on SLGS, because I don't think I can increase doses as fast as TR calls for...I'd like to be able to do TR.

Is it that SLGS is just slower changes to the insulin dosing?

Whether you change the dose depends on which dosing method you plan to use. With Tight Regulation, you hold the dose for 6 cycles/3 days. With Start Low Go Slow, you hold the dose for a week. Likewise, with SLGS, the drop in numbers to below 90 would warrant a dose reduction, vs an increase.

Take a look at the sticky on how to do TR if you work full time. I worked at least a 40 hr week and did TR.

But with TR, there would be a dose reduction simply hitting low number once?

Make sure to read it over again but I believe...

Reduction points are lower on TR than SLGS - 50( 2.7) vs 90 (5.0) for a newly diagnosed kitty.

If you feel more comfortable with SLGS to start, it will help Emmett get into some better numbers and you can decide to move to TR after.
