Maverick's had a good little run overnight, I'm ignoring the fact that he decided to pop up to reds this morning . Back to blues again, +7 178 , so far so good, with the reducie 3 days ago.

ETA: I shared some of my data with the vet from August 27th, since I was due to report in. This would be before the greens, but I did speak with them a few days later to mention this excellent progress, and they suggested getting an image of his pancreas. When do you guys think that actually might be warranted, And why? Seems strange, he's not shown any signs of pancreatitis, so maybe seems a bit of a money grab to me?

I don't see any need for that. He seems to feel good and eating well?
Yes, he's been doing very well, excellent appetite, playful, (knock-on-wood) but even at Dx that was the case. He's drinking less and peeing less, which would be expected with being in better numbers now.

I can't see the value in doing imaging at this point either...not to mention the potential stress it might involve?

I couldn't agree more and I'd be the first to press for diagnostics if needed. :bighug:

Did the vet say why he wants to do an ultrasound? I can think of better ways to spend my money that curiosity.

Nice blues Mav.

I will ask if it comes up again, I was a bit flustered because I always seem to speak with the vet tech, not the vet, and this was the following day after Maverick had his green PMPS. I got a bit annoyed because they had suggested increasing his insulin to 3u based on data from the weekend. I said absolutely NOT! Maverick hit 83 PMPS just the night previously, that earns him a reduction! Then they said they hoped I had not given insulin. I said, I shot, and monitored and he was just fine. I assured them I wouldn't have if I couldn't monitor and steer with food and/or syrup if necessary. They said ok, then suggested I bring Mav in for a weight check, and do a curve in another 2 weeks. I said, yup, you bet

Bouncy Mav back up to PMPS 468.

Max only had one curve done by my vet in nearly 3 years and that was after his first shot. My vet never suggested another since he saw his spreadsheet regularly. We did one fructosamine.

Sorry, I meant curve at home, they've been good about that, I send over the numbers, to keep them in the loop. They only wanted me to bring Maverick in for weight and possibly the imaging.

I just bought an auto feeder on Amazon, baby scale was on my list :), thought I could find one in store, but no such luck. Thanks, I know the bounces come and go, and on the plus side, Maverick tends to clear them pretty quickly. More sleep for me tonight ;)
