Good Morning, Everyone,

We have light snow and 11 degrees already, so it looks to be a fine day for the picnic. We are going to snowshoe, rather than ski, so as to carry more easily all the stuff in to the picnic site that we will need in order to build a fire and cook over it. This picnic is an annual "event" and we are so looking forward to it.
Rusty will hold the fort, but we'll be home by mid afternoon. He had a good night, sleeping between us on the bed. This morning all Ps are in place and he is settled on the radiator, keeping warm and snug. He ate breakfast in his usual 2 sittings. Still no interest in his wonderful new catnip toys, but we're hoping.
All for now. Everyone have a good day and I'll report on the picnic later.

Good morning guys ... a nicer start to the day then his last few amps numbers .. I hope you guys have a nice time out on your picnic .. I never think of picnicking during the winter months, but I could see where it would be nice with a bon fire .. have a great day guys!

Re: 2/9 Rusty AMPS 119

Nice start of the day for Rusty. The picnic sounds like fun and a nice community. I enjoy hearing how you and Ed make the most out of winter packed with activities and fun.

Re: 2/9 Rusty AMPS 119

Wow have fun I do not go out and hike in weather that cold its 18 here in ky 30's is pretty much my cutoff for temps upper 20s sometimes but teens nadda nice start for Rusty hope you have a good time ;-)

Re: 2/9 Rusty AMPS 119

Wow, you guys really make the most of winter! Have a great time. I'm sure Rusty will 'hold the fort', meaning that he'll throw a big ol' party. Chaos, Mannie, Binks, Raja, and everyone will have trashed the place by the time you get back!!

I buy new toys too, but they don't always go over as well as I'd like. My civvie prefers, above all things, to rub his face on a tool bag of DH's in a hypnotic rhythm, for hours if we let him..but toys? Meh.

Re: 2/9 Rusty AMPS 119

Nice Rusty! What a great amps. Such a nice low shade of blue. Be good while your beans are gone - maybe give them a green present when they get home. :-D :-D

Enjoy the picnic! What fun - It is so nice that you guys can enjoy winter as much as you do. Of course we all want a full report when you get home.

Hey Rusty! what's up??? You want company while your beans are gone? More tunneling in the snow banks, a fire in the wood stove? Or..... should we pick you up for fun in the sun? ~~ See you !! ~~ Mannie

Re: 2/9 Rusty AMPS 119

Very nice amps. I'm sure Rusty will hold the fort while you're gone. I'm with Pat - the snowy picnic is not for me. But I'm sure you'll have fun. I can't wait to hear the report.

Re: 2/9 Rusty AMPS 119

Rusty's got the right idea, surfing away on a nice warm radiator, while his bean are enjoying a picnic in subzero weather.
Can't wait to hear the details, Ella.

Re: 2/9 Rusty AMPS 119, +8 117

Hi again, Rusty held the fort nicely and was asleep on his perch when we got home from the picnic in the snow. It was beautiful, if very windy. The site was on a point of land surrounded by water (a pond we paddle in paddling season) and the wind was fierce (about 25 mph), making 20 degrees seem like zero. But there is a lean-to there for shelter, and we built a snow wall to keep the fire from whipping around too much. We had about 12 or 13 people and everyone brought their 3 sticks of kindling (some brought split fire wood), so we had a lovely fire to cook the hotdogs on. The snow was very deep and it was challenging breaking trail. I did it for a while on snowshoes, being careful not to mess up the ski tracks for those who were on skis. A good time was had by all. A couple of people fell and had difficulty getting up again because the snow was so deep. But everyone survived.

Got to go look at the cupboards now and see if we have anything to eat for dinner. Back later.

Re: 2/9 Rusty AMPS 119, +8 117, PMPS 128

darn celi - missed it....

Ella - it sounds like a fantastic afternoon - cold (!!) but a ton of fun. 25mph winds? in already freezing weather?? My hat goes off to you - what an afternoon! I hope all did OK,, especially those poor souls that fell.

I hope your cupboards yielded some good fuds!

I missed it too, Celi!

Very weird to get a 160 on first test at PMPS +4.5. Retested and got 133--still high. Rusty had low energy today and I wonder if he isn't feeling well. He does have congestion, but he has had that since he came to live with us and I think it is a chronic condition. He has good appetite and good lb contributions. I suppose a fur shot is always possible, but I haven't smelled insulin on his fur. And this cartridge of Lev. is only 25 days old (Lev. is supposed to go for 42 days).
We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Ni ni, everyone,

Ella & Rusty
