2/9 Ruben pmbg 136 +3 99 and we have Poo!!!

Hello guys, you can. not. concieve of the amount of snow we got.... :shock:
so ruben's numbers have been "no jinx" unbelievable.... I havn't been able to get on but someone sent me a link last time board was down in a PM and remebered i saved it.
I have not shot b/c 1- couldn't get here and thought it was safe to hold off 2-he seems to be doing ok on his own? is that a safe thought to think? Nervous to get comfortable in my thought patterns.
I've been only feeding the ff classic and hoping that maybe the food change on its own is doing the trick.
What does everyone else think? either way i know these are good numbers but, could he..........be heading towards remission? < no jinx...wish you were all mind readers so i din't have to type it...jk .lol :smile:
i missed you guys...
i will be on and off most of the day, but my mom has no power and no heat so may have to run out to try to help her and dog from freezing..lol
oh guys please let little ruben's own inate intelligence be working. you are all such wonderful manifesters. what great vines you send.
thank you, the sooner ruben gets in and stays on healing numbers the more i can give back. :-D

Glad to hear his numbers are good, Sam and glad to hear you have power--how much snow exactly???

yes seems to be eating and peeing back to normal- haven't caught poo <been shoveling lol
i'd say we have about 2-2 1/2 feet. you have to walk in it to realy feel how deep it is. unbelievable!!!

I'm so glad to see you found us!!! I've been kinda worried but kinda not. I could see his SS and that his numbers were ok and wow on the +3 today. But I wasn't sure if he was eating or not.

Thanks for keeping his SS up to date.

Let's just see how the day plays out and how he continues to do. If you can test him just a few minutes before +12 and post it, it would be great. Remember not to feed him just in case it might be a good idea to give him a tiny bit of insulin.

You are back on a 7/7 shot time....IF you needed to shoot?

Be careful and tell your mom hi for all of us.

wow! very interesting things going on here. looks like ruben's pancreas could be sputtering.
i like marje's idea of seeing how things go today. i'd get a few spot checks, but don't over do it.

yay marje!!! he did eat for that +3 i'm back on a 10 and 10 schedule, figured it was ok to actually sleep in if he is in the blue. I will check him a few min before +12 (10pm) if the pancreatitus is healing it is possible that he could be heading into remission, right? oh please let it be. My vet has been checking in with me and tried to make me promise not to shot unless i talk to her or a vet first but only if he is over 250. I'm here so i did not make that promise but i tried to just appease her and told her i would call before i do anything.
so glad to be back, been wanting opinions on how to interpert these numbers?

How about feeding him small meals throughout the day and let's see what his pancreas does ok? I know you had to go out but give it a shot when you can. Just don't feed +10 to +12. I will be here for your +12.

i've been letting him free feed through out the day....but will pull up his food at 815 and test at 1015
tails paws and fingers crossed.

Hi there, sorry you are in the middle of a snow storm. I'm originally from Scotland but live in Charleston SC...don't miss the winter weather at all :cool:
My sweet Molly cat got diagnosed on 1/25 and we have not given insulin for 3 days now, seems like wet food is working. I can't offer any advice but just wanted to say hi since you are new to this ride too and quite frankly it can seem overwhelming at times :dizcat

no, i've been testing at what amps and then +3 and pmps and +3
Should i be doing more testing? testing causes great anxiety for me...waiting for that number to show is stressfull. plus was giving rubens lil ears a break, im not the most graceful at testing yet.
i just had a talk with ruben's lil mr.p and told him how proud of him i was and how he knew how to do it before and he can do it again, so im anticipating good numbers for tonight.. :razz: :razz:

so ruben would always go in and out of the bf closet and today i noticed he look suspecious, there is aquarium salt in there, the bf said that he thought he noticed like sandy stuff on his face before but thought it was litter dust of the lb, there has been no confirmation if he's been getting into the salt, but do you think this could be causeing these problems? should i ask the vet. I closed the closet and had the talk with the bf not to leave the door open. can't say for sure if he's eating it, if he is im assuming it's cause he needs some kind of mineral< any idea what mineral it could be? wht could long time salt snaking do to a kitty? again can't say for sure if he's been eating it, but i know ruben and if it's not salt he's getting into, its something in there, i know that look he gave me when i "caught" him. he looked guilty, i just don't know of what.

Salt can cause dehydration, and over long periods of time, ingesting too much salt can cause kidney problems. At least that's what google says!

Question - do you have a salt water aquarium set up? If so, is there any way that Ruben could be drinking water out of it?

And apparently salt can be used to induce vomiting in an emergency... though not recommended.

Basically, make sure he can't get into the bag of salt again.

Good, because aquarium water has lots of nasty junk in it, including possibly salmonella. Which causes diarrhea among other things.

The PMBG is still in the normal range on an AT meter, so good for Ruben!

This is very, very, very good! Yes...just give him small meals and see how he's doing. A +3 is a good test to get to see if his pancreas is working.

On the aquarium salt....I have no idea but gee does that ever sound a little coincidental with how sick he has been. Ni think I'd be sure the salt is up on a high shelf just in case the closet doesn't get closed.
 
+3 99 and we have poo and not only was it poo but it was perfect poo. thats all 5 p's oh thank fdmb thank you god. please let this be the start of remission.

it was so perfect i wanted to take a pic... :razz: for real lol jk. poor ruben has no privacy.
if he hears me get up he stops digging then i have to fake him out and walk to the fridge, wait for him to start again then walk near the trash, then mid poo, i spring the lighs on him :shock: :lol:
i though my vet was so wrong to tell me that testing may change my relationship, but she was right, it has changed in the most beautiful way. everyday i love him more. cat_pet_icon truly my best friiend
