Yesterday was..... a difficult day in MannieLand, for the bean. Mannie however thought it was just fine. Things were normal for him in his book. Mannie and I Have been dancing this sugar dance for close to five years now, and I don't think I have ever been as frustrated, disheartened, as I was yesterday. Well maybe that other time when he went black for the entire day... As well as we know the score, days with numbers like those are so hard to put a handle on, wrap positive thoughts around, even when we know the why. But we did anyways. There are many times when I believe that he knows how I feel, what the score is. He has that look he gets, it''s an emphathy look, and it melts my heart. So we pick him up, give him hugs, tell him it's OK, spend a few moments together. Those are the best darn moments ever. We hope for a good day today, BG wise, yellows... blues... the rest is coming along just fine. :-D Mannie - here's to you, some very strong feel better vines. Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D Appy continues to be good (though a little picky this morning), LB continues to be good, ketones negative. I am beginning to wonder if the Potassium stuff upsets his tummy some. When I fed him the other night to try and control that mega dive the pickiness started after he got his meds. we will see how it goes today, and should that continue I will call the vet to see what I can do to deal with it. Other than that he has been up and about, wanting to go outside (tried to sneak out again last night - LOL!), greeting all when we come home. Despite the high BG's the days have been an OK for him. Mannie and Nicholas did have a little interaction yesterday - a short game of pet and chase. Mannie was a good sport and let DGS mess with him for a while, until it was "bye Man-NIE, Nicky go river"  And so we did. Test was good this morning, as was the shoot. Appy was good: he ate well. 98% Close to normalcy in MannieLand, still working on that last 2%.... :-D

Have a great day everyone! I am on DGS duty today, the last one this week. It will be a swim day for Nicholas, and the whatever else we have time for. The weather should be good, so I hope to make it outdoors again. I will try and get to condos when I can, maybe in the morning, but probably not until late in the evening. There is just no time when he is here. I will miss you guys - and your furkids. Think blue think green kitties!

Hey everybody! I so hope that the dunes are sunny an warm today. I so wanna go dunes sliding and buggy racing! And build a bonfire and grill and stuff. and maybe some hang gliding to! What'd'ya think? You guys in??? uh Tess? the dunes are sunny and warm yes??? Ok. let's hope so... See you guys soon! ~~ Mannie

And completely OT: here are the links for the photos and videos from DGS and My adventure to the Skykomish River. I haven't attached the photos, in the interest of doing my part to keep the board up and running, and not crashing. We have had so many lately... I hope too soon have sometime to figure out how to include photos without them being attachments.... working on it! anyways - here's the link: Skykomish River Road Trip For fun here is a short video I took of Nicholas when we got to out first stop. He so loves it there.

Re: 2/8 Mannie AMPS 451

Aw, I'm sorry yesterday was a tough one. Do you think the TumilK could be driving his numbers up, as well as possibly upsetting his tummy? I hope today is a better day...feel better, Mannie!!!

Re: 2/8 Mannie AMPS 451

Morning Amy - THX, and I know things will get better. I wonder to on the tumil-k. I need to find out what else is in it, see if I need to adjust the dose to compensate. That will be research for today. I'm not too sure on the upset tummy - if it is, it isn't severe. Might have to compensate some for that too should that prove to be true. So far today he is eating OK, and is interested in food. :-D

Re: 2/8 Mannie AMPS 451

Hi, Michelle. I'm so sorry yesterday was a hard one. Sometimes the weight of it all feels so heavy for us beans, especially when we know (think? HOPE?) we're doing everything right. And it's even more heartbreaking when you get the "I'm sorry" look from you furbaby.
Keep cuddling, and I hope today is a better one for you.

Mannie, you're doing great! Eating, LB-ing, playing games, trying to sneak out (hee-hee!)... Keep up the good work!

Re: 2/8 Mannie AMPS 451

Morning Michelle, so sorry yesterday was one of those frustrating sugar dance days and hope today will be better. I hope you can determine if it is the potassium or one of th other meds upsettting his tummy. Do you give Pepcid at night? I'm sure it's listed somewhere. Mannie, how about a nice surf today while your Bean and DGS have their swim time. Let's see if this threat works, Michelle. :-D Sweet video of DGS. I notice he's talking quite a bit. Fingers and paws crossed for a better Mannie day.
Mannie, wow and thanks on the Triple espresso cappuccinos and 10 hour coffee, those are my favs, Auntie Ann

Mannie, the dunes sounds great. I think weather up that way will be nice. A bonfire and grillin sounds great. I'll bring some salmon catnip burgers to grill. See ya at the curb, Mags

Re: 2/8 Mannie AMPS 451, +2 532

coffee please? ~O)
That sounds good today.

I hope today and the weekend are better. I know how those ugly days can be.
Good that Mannie cuddles and makes you feel better.

So come on Mannie, let's decrease that 2% to 1.5 this next week, okay?

Re: 2/8 Mannie AMPS 451, +2 532

Hi guys .. I'm sorry yesterday was a rough day for you .. those black numbers can take such a toll on us .. but we get through them somehow and keep moving forward .. mannie will be back down into his normal numbers once he's feeling 100% .. we just have to wait it out .. have a great weekend guys!

Re: 2/8 Mannie AMPS 451, +2 532

If you think the potassium is causing the upset tummy, how about giving it to him AFTER he eats. This way, he will have food on board to coat his tummy and hopefully, not have issues. Just a thought, which I'm sure you considered already....

Mannie,

thanks for today's tea. What a most unusually yummy flavor! Add some cheery and it's just perfect.

Hey Mannie,

It's snowing here today. I so need to get out of here and to someplace warm and sunny! And my bean says you can only go hang-gliding if you lower your beegees! Weren't you told this yesterday too...sheesh why aren't you listening.... :YMSIGH: My bean says, that your bean is going to yank your license and ground you if you don't bring down the beegees! Do you need help? I know how to keep beegees down! So much that my bean doesn't ever poke me anymore! And don't you want your own nice condo in the Falls? Think of all the fun you can have with your own condo. And you can get all kinds of things to go with it, such as helicopters, jets, yachts, maybe even your own train...you can call it the MANNIE TRAILS! Doesn't that sound like fun....

Do you know why I have a set of mini bean mittens and scarf in my wagon? Where did that come from? I think they may belong to your mini bean.... ohmygod_smile

Signed, Maui the Magnificent

Re: 2/8 Mannie AMPS 451, +2 532

Mannie, that's too much of a fuds spike! Mamabean and ALL your auntie-and-uncle-beans here are tired of those numbers! Can you at least think pink today? Even pink would be welcome at this point. Ok big guy? Let's see what you can do. Hugs to you Michelle, I hope today is a better day. "Nicky go river" I love it! What a cutie he is.

Re: 2/8 Mannie AMPS 451, +2 532

Good Morning Michelle & Mannie,

I hear ya on the numbers. Are you thinking of a dose increase? Sienne had an interesting comment in Michelle & Dusty's condo this morning about avoiding glucose toxicity. I sure hope that Mannie settles down to better numbers soon. It must be so hard juggling the meds, the insulin, the fuds, etc. Maybe the vet needs to adjust the "Special K" dose to avoid possible upset-stomach issues. What a wonderful kitty Mannie is to understand so well that you are trying to help him. Those special moments of loving must really give you a lift.

Love the video of Nicholas at the river. It sounds like you are walking around in the water, too! I love it when he says "watch out"!! When you find out how to attach photos as photos--not attachments--let me know, OK?

Have a fun adventure today. Sending all sorts of good thoughts and vines for Mannie.

Ella & Rusty

Hey Mannie, The DUNES! Great idea! See ya soon, pal, I'm on my way to sunshine and warmth!
Rusty

((((Michelle)))) It's been a rough few weeks for you and your guy. You are doing an awesome job managing everything. Now you're moving in the right direction, Mannie!

Re: 2/8 Mannie PMPS 300

PMPS: 300.
251 @ +2
so nice to see him down some. We are so hoping for a great night. Since the board is more or less down, not too sure how many will really read this anyways - so short and sweet. :-D

Thanks Liz, Tracy, Pat, Ella, Anne, Hillary, Devon, Rhiannon, Ann, and Josie for visiting Mannie and I today. SO APPRECIATED! Today has been much better, for me, and for Mannie. I thank you all for your kind thoughts. Mannie is about the same today, seems to feel Better than he did when he was in the black zone. It has been a restful day for him, sorely needed I suspect, time to recover from some really awful BG's.
Hillary - yes on giving the meds after he eats. That was my thought too, so we did/do. Not too sure if the meds are upsetting his tummy or not, it's not drastic, as he does eat.
Anne - me too on the "Nicky go river" it just made my day.
Ella - yes on the dosecrease, but need to get the bounce done, and determine if potassium meds are contributing to this first. and yes on the video - I was too! and will do on the photos.
Thanks once again to all of you. Mannie and I are hanging in there.

Maui - my own train??????? SWEET! OK - count me in, and down I go!~~ Mannie
Rusty, Maggie - let's roll! THE DUNES! ~~ Mannie
