Still settling into the 1.75u. Since I don't have 100u syringes I am pulling the plunger until it just reaches the 2u line and calling it 1.75u.

Ketones still there- 3.8 this morning. She was whiny this morning and kept waking me up for cuddles- I put last nights left over in the fridge so when I got up at 3:30 (+9) I was able to test her before feeding and it was GREAT :!: 14 points from a blue :!: and lowest she has been for a while. I figure since it takes her food a while to spike it might take the PZI a while to reduce... :? Maybe?

Well... starting the dance.

Glad you are testing for the ketones. Are you also still testing with the urine strips also? I ask that because, I have never used the blood meter and I am wondering how the 3.8 relates to the ranges on the urine strips.

They are a slight blush but not so 'dark' as the trace one. I do the sticks each day- when I can catch her.

Since the meter strips are so expensive I don't want to use them unless i have to but her bg numbers were high and she was acting a little strange (or is it just needy?) so I tested her blood just before leaving work to be safe- I couldn't catch her either last night or this morning in the box or I wouldn't have used the meter.

Her low levels might be because I dropped her insulin back down to baseline to start from scratch as the vet didn't really do that. Ketones are present in the stream if there isn't enough insulin and I dropped her from 3 to 1u. The vet had me shooting 4 units of Humulin, then 3 of PZI to move up to 4. I didn't think she needed that amount- neither did the others once i was able to track her levels for a good weekend.
