You got a bit of a sky diver on your hands! Did you feed at shot time? The LC?
I would do the same routine as last night.
+3 to see if she is continuing to drop....+4 if still dropping, and so on until you see a surf or rise.
Any of those freeze dried treats recommended on the list you should be able to order online, if you cant find them near you.
Dont forget that boiled chicken. If she doesnt need the kibble (even for treats) then just replace it with boiled chicken until you decide on an appropriate treat for the future. The kibble can really make the numbers bounce around unpredictably.
Doing great! I hope you are not getting sick. Ive had one of the worst ever colds since Saturday, myself.
Yeah, she seems to take that shot hard. I'm dosing her while she's eating, so maybe the insulin is getting into her system a lot faster than any food and making her numbers dive. Should I dose her about 10 minutes after she eats?
No, dont think thats going to make a difference.
I had a diver, too.
You could feed part of what you do at shot time, and the other part @ +1 to see if it slows it down.
But, if there is kibble on board ,then you never know. Could be washing out of her system right around that time.
I don't think she's eating much, if any, of the normal dry food that's out for Nyssa (she only eats the dry...and I mean ONLY). Sabian's been pretty much a canned-food junkie for about 2 months now except for the Purina DM kibble I treat her with, which is about a tablespoon in all at test time. I grabbed a bunch of chx thighs at the store today, so I have boiled chicken on my menu tomorrow (chx & dumplings for me!).
I'm going to take another reading at the +3 mark and if it's still around 200, I'm going to sleep.
An hour has past and the +3 is 211. Looks like she's coasting around the 200 mark. I'm hitting the hay for what I'm hoping is a solid night's sleep...an unusual occurrence lately it seems.
