Good Morning, Everyone,

Rusty had a coughing fit (hairball hacks? winter congestion?) about 20 minutes before we got up, but is OK now. He ate all of his nighttime food (possibly shortly before AMPS) and this morning we had a good test, shot, first sitting of breakfast, a nap in his little bed by the radiator, and a schmooze with his mamabean.

Today is a cold one and we are expecting a major winter storm to begin tonight and last into Saturday. This will be good for skiing and snowshoeing. In a few hours I will start up the little 'fridge and hopefully it will work. The cooler has been keeping Rusty's insulin at a safe temperature; needless to say I am not going to entrust the insulin to the little 'fridge until I am sure that it keeps and holds a safe temperature.

Wishing you all a good Fursday and keeping on sending healing vines to all of our sick kitties and beans,

Ella & Rusty

Beautiful Blue today Rusty! Ella, I told you we kept Moonie's insulin in a cooler for 23 days when we were in the motel after the Hurricane, and it was just fine...I am sure yours will be perfect..
Hope Rusty comes down for you today & will meet all the other kitties in the Lagoon!
We are due for the snow storm too...Stock up everyone, this could be Major!!
DH and I love to be "snowed in"
Big Hugs & Love from us!!

Hi guys .. sorry to hear about the coughing fit this morning, but glad to hear he seems ok now .. Make sure you have everything you need for the snow storm coming .. we're in the 8-12in range here .. have a great day guys!

Re: 2/7 Rusty AMPS 167

Back to the lagoon, Rusty! You can just avoid that snow altogether, even though your beans are delighted. Ella, I don't have any Kahtoola microspikes but I'm doingthis race on Saturday, sponsored by Kahtoola.

Hi Ella. Nice start of the day for Rusty. Glad he cleared the coughing spell.

I just saw a weather report and it looks like you're in for some more winter weather. I hope you get your fridge problem corrected. The small fridges are great when the big one goes kaput.

Have a great day and stay warm.

Hi Ella, I was watching TW and saw that the storm will be hitting your area soon. I hope you get some good skiing and snowshoe activities in this weekend. We're having some rain tomorrow, big excitement for us. I hope the new frig comes soon. Scritches to Rusty.

HI Ella
Hope Rusty's not the type to leave a hairball in the bed for you, if he's too comfy to get up.

We're being warned about that snow too. I ran out today to stock up on cat food again. If snow is threatened, I'm off to the store. Jokes are made about people like me

I see lots of fun in the great outdoors, for you. :-D

It sounds like Rusty is having a good day. Hopefully he'll get back to the lagoon soon. I hope the little fridge worked okay after you started it up.

Hi again,

Success with the little 'fridge. At first I thought it wasn't working properly, but over the course of the day it cooled down. We put it in the basement so that it would be out of the way when our new 'fridge arrives. It's much quieter than I was led to believe. I'm not going to put the insulin into it yet, however! The cooler and the cold blocks are working just fine. Actually, most of our food is still in coolers and will remain there until the new 'fridge is delivered on Feb. 18th. Thank goodness it is cold on the porches so I can re-freeze the cold blocks. Tonight I made a minestrone that we'll be able to get 4 meals out of. It enabled me to use up some perishables and will cut down on the running back and forth to 7 different coolers when I am trying to cook a meal!

The LagoonMeister had a good day on shore. Very flat blue. He had good appetite and we had several games of "tube ball" and a good combing. He has taken to eating his food in the living room: the kitchen is too cold!

I'm still tired from the climb yesterday and the running around doing refrigerator stuff. Looking forward to "Person of Interest" tonight.

Everyone have a good evening. Our big snowstorm is supposed to begin later tonight. The Winter Carnival parade on Saturday may be in the middle of the snowstorm.
