Labs are up..
.. ugh. tysm for all of the continued support and concern.. thank you for helping to decipher things for us. it means so much to me and Pudgles. truly. thank you.
(im falling asleep all over the place today.. please bear w me; hoping things make sense..
)
nugget had the best potty I've seen in the longest today!!!! yay!!!!! the fluids I think are definitely helping, along w the Miralax.. I woke up and saw, so glad haha.. at least there he must be feeling better. was a little lethargic this morning, tho, but doing better now! legs still bit weak but doing his best..
the vet appt went very very well.. I wasn't sure what to expect; just wanted his tests done.
.. and it was nice talking to a doctor talking some sense. she 100% thinks its probably an infection and was confused why a culture wasn't ordered before.. says that the first thing she thinks of if a cat has FD and suddenly the kidneys go wonky... is an infection. because of sugar in the urine, more prone to infections, etc....... I summarized to her all the mess of the past few months. she sympathized and just shook her head, we were like ?????? haha.. *cries. she also has older kitties with some challenges too so she's having her share of some things and disclosed some nice advices w me. (and ultimately we just agreed the state of things were a mess.. smh.)
anyway.. had blood done in house and blood came back showing his potassium is way low. phosphorus higher but she wasn't concerned on that (idk..) but says the potassium probably the reason for his difficulties walking, muscles, etc. she also said its important to get on this potassium situation because it can cause heart problems... prescribed a Renal K+ and just ordered (powder).. hopefully comes very soon; wanted to start it immediately.. and regular stores don't have it.. I called on dose today and was prescribed 1-2 scoops a day, ideally two, but at least 1 for next 5-7 days prior to recheck. also suggested B12..got the B12 and the litterboxes (below..) we go back in a week to see how its doing. the Culture and Sensitivity, along w urinalysis, done but culture takes a few days, and may or may not show cause he was just on antibiotics.. if necessary, a redo at the next appt. but they might show so had it done. she suggested a better litter box for his older legs, lower, etc (I feel BAD I didn't realize this.. but he got around pretty well..
), using maybe 2 rn wherever closer he is, fluids upped to 100 mL but for time being w everything 75mL is ok to see if therapeutic enough? idk.. but would like to get the echo report back, cause sometimes he has little coughs.. esp when eating.
overall, im so glad we went.. we needed to know where he is for his values. she was happy his kidney values were better somehow; creatinine went down.. idk. and actually have a number for BUN.. and now he really doesn't seem to like the binder... he doesn't eat those snacks/meals well.. will try to get some small capsules and pill every time?... will do best. ugh. trying to fit in all the things..
I'm still a little lost how to administer B12.. told could use the line, and if understood, just can put subcutaneous with a u100 syringe?.. idk.

.....so sleepy im sorry.
