Yesterday. Caber Yr 2 Day 125

An hour late today. If I didn't oversleep and was on time, she probably was lower and I'm sticking to that !!!!!!

As tired as I was last night I decided to get a 2nd bedtime test in, glad I did. It caught a pickle. I wish they would just last longer.

Tux's appt soon for his tooth. Don't know what they will do today. He will probably have to go back and get it filed down, maybe a dental.

Quick look shows all the kitties in the lemon tree this morning. I will look in on everyone when I get back.

Off we go.......

Hope Tux's appt goes well and that they can fix the tooth without any pain.

Hope Ollie is doing well...have a good day Paula!!

Good luck at the vet Paula, I hope they can fix Tux's tooth, poor kitty.:bighug:
Nice seeing Ollie in the lagoon yesterday!! I hope you get the all-clear on her urine tests.
Have a great day!!

OMG what a ride home.

1st Tux's tooth, on my way it's 36 F and pouring rain. So tooth itself is healthy. Dr thinks it's just rubbing on gum and irritating lower it. Eventually will form a callous. If filed down he said you are creating a cavity and certainly don't want to pull a healthy tooth. He does have very minor gingivitis so now he will get AB for a week. Dr also said he doesn't need a dental for at least 1-2 years unless something happens. No tartar or plaque.

So we come out of vets and it's 28 F and car covered in snow. Did I step into a black hole? Vet is down in valley so you would think weather would be better, can't imagine what it will be like at home on the mountain.

So start home and roads are slushy and slippery. Highway not to bad. Then comes mountain road. Going like 20 mph, see occasional slide tracks. Now I hit the top and start down. Not to bad, shift into 2nd gear, round the last corner before steep downhill. There are a line of cars trying to get up the mountain. The first one is a van that carries school children. Sliding sideways trying to go up. So I wait a bit and he finally stops. I pop into 3rd, drive on the edge where the rocks are for shoulder and he starts moving again but sliding towards me. Really, just stay put you idiot. I get past him and next car, we are only talking maybe 100 ft before my driveway, coming down doing well and the next 2 cars start trying to turnaround at intersection. Really, you see me coming down and you now start getting in the way because you can't control your car. There is no way I'm slamming on my brakes on slippery downhill to try to avoid you, it ain't gonna happen. So now there's a line of vehicles in front of house sitting there waiting to get up the mountain. An hour later they are still sitting. Who knows when the plow and sander will come through.

Lots of people do NOT know how to drive in the snow! I always tell my son to watch out for the other drivers!
Glad you got home safely :)

OMG! @Bellasmom needs to read this tale of winter driving...ugh...brings back un-fond memories of slipping and sliding around in that stuff...and oh those other drivers!!!o_O:facepalm::blackeye::( No one has a bit of sense do they???

Hope Tux's tooth thing gets settled down soon...and nice that Ollie tossed you a pickle last night :) Glad you made it home safely! Crazy winter weather!!

Oh my gosh Paula!! Glad you all made it home safe!! That must have been intense and I can just imagine the chaos!! Good driving, you sound like a pro!!!!

When we lived in BC, we were up a mountain also, winding steep roads, people with no snow tires last on the list for snow plows etc…and I did the same thing and drive off the road to get better traction and just pass everyone!! I hope the traffic jam in front of your house is gone now.

Nice dental report on Tux, I hope the Abs get rid of the gingivitis. :bighug:

It’ll be interesting to find out what they tested Ollie’s urine for.

What a day you had!! Good thing you could make it home safely. It's the same when I go see my uncle during winter, have to drive through mountain roads... !! :woot:
Good for Tux, if he should be ok and no need for dental! Now Ollie will have to go back for another test ?? :(
Relax and enjoy your evening with your kitties!
