Scooter was feeling pretty good most of the day today. He ate an OK breakfast and lunch, but doesn’t seem to be feeling to great this evening. He didn’t eat much dinner. He is giving me lots of purrs when I cuddle him.
I did talk to both vets today. Apparently I miss understood the 2nd vet when he called with the fluid results ( I had just got off work and was in the grocery store trying to find food Scooter would eat and it was noisy and busy). He meant that his heart could be contributing to the fluid, but he still felt as certain as he could be that he has cancer. The fluid did not have cancer cells in it, but he said some tumors don’t shed cells. He said it did have a lot of blood in it which also would indicate a tumor. He said Lasik won’t help because of the type of fluid. Our regular vet agreed that the blood in the fluid likely indicates a tumor. As, it seems to be very likely cancer, I’ve decided not to put Scooter through a long car trip and more exams. Thank you all so much for trying to help us.

Prayers to you and yours so sorry . I know its hard my mother had to put down two babies of hers who had cancer. They were dogs . Father and son both had cancer . She took it really hard but did well through it all . Be strong . My heart goes out to you . Love him as much as you can . When salem was dying when he had DKA I held him and talked to him .:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Tina! I am spending lots of time cuddling and talking to him. Scooter has always liked to be talked to.

It's good to hear Scooter had a mostly good day--with lots of cuddlepurrs! Maybe the extra fluid or whatever just makes him feel full and he'll feel better and eat better again once his earlier meals are fully processed. He's having a good quality of life, and I can certainly understand not wanting to overmedicalize it (and over-car-ride it). I think you're choosing for him what he would choose for himself. And your brand of Momma's Miracle Kisses have apparently been working for Jessie, so they could work for Scooter, too!:bighug:
