Moonie's Highest AMPS ever!!! Hope last nite wasnt fur shot too--
I am using 31 gauge syringes I bought 1 pkg at walmart--They are too sharp & go through her thin skin too easily--I have used up all the ones donated by DCIN, so I bought a pkg.. Asked vet for a prescript. and got it, I just have to change the gauge---
Thankfully I have some money from the WHEEZER Basket (Thanks so much Deb & Spot & all of you) to pay for a box, and to pay for her lactulose every 2 wks, hyperT med, and pred.
Moonie has never had a high number like this in 5 Years!
I havent been testing her at night as much, as I have to give lactulose at bedtime, pred in a syringe, and she gets so upset, but is a little better now..I cant even get blood out of her ears hardly at all, as there must be some wearing out of her ear!!! I have to poke her 2-3 times to get blood!
Thankful also to Claudia & Rocket who kindly gave me strips that I am using in our accu check aviva meter.
I will test her at +2 again today...and +3--praying she will come down!

BTW She Pooped last night. small but still a POO!! :lol:

((((Roni)))) I am sorry about that ugly number but Moonie will get back on track. It's hard with everything that's going on for you and your sweet Moonie. Yay on the poo - Detective Poo is always glad to get a good report. :-D :-D

I use the 31g syringes too... sometimes you don't feel any "resistance" at all. Sime likes it that way tho :lol:
Odd that her ears seem to have forgotten how to bleed... hope they re-learn ;-)

(((Roni and Moonie))) so sorry about that number, but if a fur shot, it will come down. Moonie, pleae come down for your Bean, Hey, a little poo is still a poo. So it counts. You have so much going on with the flood and house and then so many meds for Moonoe, too. Sending lots of good healing vines, poo vines, and hugs and love from Mags and me.

Hooray on the poo! But, sorry about the high AMPS. I hope she decides to come down soon.

I hope Moonie came down for you today. That's great she had some poo today. I can see why you don't get many night tests in with all of the meds you're giving her. Roni you are doing a great job managing all of Moonie's meds and helping her to have a better life.

I hope that Moonie came down to better numbers during the day today. Sometimes you just get a high number. It's just one number!! Roni, would you like me to send you a box of Monoject 31-gauge syringes? Most of the syringes have the problem with the "cone", but if you are careful you can compensate for that. Monoject sent me several boxes of different lots when Marje and I were complaining about insulin getting into the cone and making the dose larger than intended. (I have since switched to Terumos and use the calipers to get a precise dose.) Anyway, let me know if you want the Monojects. I have never had a problem with the needle being too thin. Do you hold it with the bevel facing up?

Thinking of you and very happy that Moonie had a poo!!!

Well, if it was a fur shot she will cear it soon enough. I just did one the other day too, it happens to every one. I hope she came down for you tonight.
 
Maybe it was a fur shot, been there, done that - didn't even get the T-shirt! :roll: If so, she'll get back on track soon. I know that AMPS was hard to see, but hope her numbers got better as the day went on.

YAY for POO!!!!
