2/6 Hershey AMPS (246) shot .8u, should've shot .6u

Great, just great. Hershey's AMPS (246). Sliding scale said .6 u - groggy miscommunication and we shot .8 u. Almost afraid to go back to sleep since .5 u shot into (239) on 2/4 brought him down to (75).

Need a little sleep, just in case. Guess I should test at +4 (That'll be 6:30am.) and at least +6, but quite possibly +5, too. I hope we haven't set him up for another hard few cycles...sure wish you could siphon it out...(smacking head repeatedly)

Sure do hope someone will be around if we need them...At least I'm home all day, but what a day NOT to have a car...

Apparently, Doug was groggy/frustrated at the overdose and went back to bed, forgetting he was guarding Oreo's bowl from Hershey while I posted. Sooooo, Hershey ate some of Oreo's...good news, they eat the same thing...bad news, I don't know how much he ate (I don't believe there was but about 3/8 can when Oreo started eating, though.) And, possibly it was a good thing he ate more since he got more insulin? I don't know...every feel like you're not a very good parent? That would be a major understatement right about now...

I think Hershey isn't in any danger, and the extra food he ate will give him a cushion. Relax, you are a great Mommabean doing your best. On 2/4 he may have dipped into the 70's but as he moves along the road to regulation you will see these greens more and more. In addition, he was at +5 when he hit 75. A nice number, right around nadir, his liver just gets panicked which leads to liver dump because he isn't used to being that low (normal) but the dumps should happen less and less as he grows accustomed to the extra insulin keeping him lower on a consistent basis.
I think you did the right thing by getting a +4 and he's looking good.

I think you're doing great! In a worst case scenario, you know what to do to keep Hershey up...if it's even needed. He's in great hands! Remember, 75 is not a bad number. It's when it drops to 40 that we start to worry about possible hypos and take action.

I'd love to have 75s at nadir. (grumble, grumble) (But I also know how seeing those greens puts us on edge. Just like our kitties' livers, we're not used to it and panic as much as, if not more than, kitties' liver! LOL) :mrgreen:

Thanks, Lisa,Teresa, and Lori for stopping by and for the encouragement. I'd love to have more green nadirs, too. Lori - wish I knew when he hits nadir. I don't think we catch it on a regular basis because sometimes he's lower at +4, sometimes +6, once we caught it at +7 and once at +9.

So, do y'all think I need to test again at +9 or anymore until shot time?
