Knew I was missing something with my girl and now I feel like a bad mommy. It finally dawned on me she hadn't pooped in a couple days and was licking her hiney a lot. So ran her into the vet's for blood work and to have her anal glands checked. Poor girl had impacted anal glands again. Got those expressed and cleaned out. She came home headed straight for the litter box and left me a big stinky present.

Poor baby her tummy been hurting because she was plugged up. Bad mommy.

Oh no.... Poor Autumn. Glad to see her pooping properly now and getting back to those lovely green numbers.

That's on of the problems with a small zoo. Sometimes it takes awhile for things to sink in and figure out whose doing or not doing what in which box afterall there are 17 litter boxes here.

It wasn't until she started walking like a raccoon on Monday for my brain to click in on the anal glands since that was how she walked when I first adopted her and they were full then.

Sammy, bless her, stands on my chest with her butt in my face when her glands are full. Subtle, huh? I can express them well enough on my own to relieve her issues. Stinks, but beats a vet visit.

Aww... poor sweetie and look at her # now! I didn't even know there was such a problem. Now I do.

Looks like Casey wasn't gonna let Autumn leave in the dust... partay! ;-)

Mel,

Just saw a picture of Maxwell in another thread. He`s beautiful, that's the first time I have seen his picture. Hope all the other kitties and you are doing well. Hope you are finally over the flu.

Oh yes, he is so, so handsome. I have never had a long hair cat before. I bet he is a very good boy too.

Up until this current crew I've seldom had a short hair. Now the crew is about 50/50 Maxwell is an absolute gentleman. Whoever had him as a kitten loved him bunches and took a lot of time teaching him manners. I've often wondered if they didn't survive the hurricane or could just never find him again. If its the later I'm sure they really miss him.
