+2 109; she ate again about 30 minutes before test and she is eating again now.

If +4 test do you think it will be ok to go to work for a while?
 
Do you have an autofeeder? Or could you leave plates of food out for her to help herself if she needs it? If you can leave food, I think she'd be OK.
 
PMPS 110 Tabitha was fine when I got home. She ate all the food I left her. I dropped off the ss @ the vet. She is out today and tomorrow but it sounds like they will email it to her. (She will be at the clinic Saturday and Sunday.
 
It looks like Tabitha had a nice surf today. It can be nerve wracking to have to go to work and not know what their numbers are.
 
+2 92 eating again. If her appetite is an indicator....

She was giving me a hard time on testing but I got it. I'm trying to give the right ear a break. The left is a little awkward. It also hasn't learned to bleed as well. She won't sit still for the sock. We are like two stubborn women going at it.
 
my tactic was to be convicted that punkin absolutely had to be tested in order for him to be safe . . . and so i won that war. :D

are you sure you can't put canned food in your autofeeder? i don't know what kind you have, but i used the PetSafe 5 Compartment autofeeder and just put an ice cube in each compartment to keep the food cold and fresh. canned food is safe to leave out for the 12 hours. Another option is to mix your cat food with a little water and freeze it in either muffin pans or ice cube trays. It's pretty essential to be able to leave her food in some way while you're working a distance away.

She sure looks like she's responding really well. Nice spreadsheet!!
 
One good think with Tabitha is she seems to only eat what she needs to. My civvie Marcus eats anything in site. This is not good since he is on Prednisolone for his asthma. Once Tabitha has settled I'm going to look into the inhalers for Marcus. I had already changed him to FF food, I think that was when I found this site, knowing with his weight diabetes was a possibility. I just need to keep Tabitha in her own room. She came from a single cat (animal) home. So she keeps her distance from the other two. They are mellow cats so it hasn't been a problem. The food is and if that isn't a factor I'm not sure if the other cats even being near by will bring on STRESS for Tabitha.
 
Ever since she has been diagnosed I've kept her by herself with me. Once or twice I've carried her to my room and when she saw Marcus she would hiss and want down to go back. Before she was diagnosed I would leave the door open unless I was feeding her. I would rarely see her adventure outside her room. She would comback.onto my bed and lay on my chest for a few minutes and then she would had back to her room.
 
some cats respond to stress with increased BGs, some don't. I had punkin at the vet's with low numbers and was testing him every 20 minutes or so in the waiting room. there was a big slobbery dog right near us getting weighed, barking and everything, and punkin's BGs never rose from it. just depends on the cat.

if you want to know, the way to be sure is to test Tabitha when she's calm, then take her over by Marcus and test her again.
 
I like how Tabitha is doing on this dose. I think once we got the higher dose depot drained a little bit, she's doing much better. I wouldn't worry about those blues yesterday....that was still a nice cycle even with a possible lesser dose.
 
Last week when she had those low numbers I would finally take her for a walk to my room where I knew the other two would be asleep on my bed. It could have been coincidental that her #s came up because of everything else that was down or it was just time to come up.

When I first got her in October she went off her food for a few days and was a kitty bump hiding for sometime. I finally found some dry that she would eat. There was a few other things like putting up her food because of Marcus thinking she was done. I finally realized she was loosing weight, not grooming drinking water etc. Never thinking diabetes because she was slim. I wonder if her change in home what started it all or was the diabetes dormant just ready to surface?
 
Tabitha has been hungry to night. I will be testing in a few minutes. I'm going to have to show her whose boss. It's funny because so far she doesn't run away. Sometimes she is standing on the testing area just daring me. :mad:
 
+4 69 I put more food out and she finally has gone back to eat more. She's eaten a can of FF in the past 4 hours. (Marcus would eat a can in about 4 minutes)
 
I like to see a couple non-food influenced numbers before I quit testing. Can you set an alarm for +7 and check her? I think that would be best.
