Man it's been a busy week. Sarge went to the vet on Tuesday and had his hips checked out. He didn't squirm at all as his vet moved him around this way and that. Aside from being remarkably bow legged his hips seem to behave. I updated her on his spreadsheet and we brainstormed what could be up with his high and unbudging numbers. She took some urine to check for a UTI and said to stop giving the Cosequin for a few days while we wait on his urine culture just to see what happens. This is day two of the no Cosequin trial and for reasons unknown yet we hit blue last night. I did start I a new Lantus pen last night but I had done that earlier in the week too with no effect (had to warranty this pen and went back to old until last night). If for some inexplicable reason removing the Cosequin works the plan is to get an injectable version since it lacks the flavoring. His vet said the injectable version often works better anyway and you don't have to give it everyday.
We got less than an inch of the two inches of snow we were "promised" but since it is 4F the progress the road crews made last night is frozen solid it is more than enough to be tricky. Boy is it cold. I wish I could curl up with the full bellied kitties today. They have the right idea! Happy Thursday LL friends
