When do I get to start calling this "oldtimer's report"?
Shadow's last insulin was Christmas morning. I'm still checking her weekly and feeding small frequent meals. She doesn't let me forget those, the girl likes her groceries. She keeps up with all her P's. She's back to preening and bathing up after a meal. She still walks with her feet turned out, we continue with MB12 and lately, she has been jumping on the couch to nap on the blankets. It's been ages since she jumped onto the furniture for a nap. It is heart-warming to see. I can tell she has some arthritis in her hips and lower back when I brush her. There is some fullness in her hip joints particularly so I have added Cosequin and all the monsters are getting lysine.
We don't usually have cold weather like this, I have been surprised how hungry it makes the monsters - must make FD more challenging for you folks in the North, as if you needed it to be more challenging.
I actually added the lysine for the boy civvies, we recently put down wood floors and there has been some general unhappiness expressed urinarily! The most likely suspect was whisked off to the vet for cystocentesis and C & S. Both negative except for 3+ blood. The furniture is all back in place now and it has stopped, not sure if it is the return to routine or if the lysine is calming that bladder irritation.
Here's a question for Beth if she stops by here - while reading on cat stress, one of the stress-inducers was denying a cat access to the outdoors. I don't get that. What do they mean by that? What this whole urine malfeasance boils down to is my alpha male has lost his mojo and I need to do what I can to help him get it back. Any ideas?
I'm not sure when my last condo was, it has been a while since I told you thanks and thanks and thanks for what you have done for Shadow and I. When I get lonesome for you guys, I pop in here and read a few condos. Lots of new kitties, our best wishes to them. Our strongest healing light and vines for Claudia and Cheryl.
