Good Morning Lantus Land ~O) ~O) ~O)

Yesterday's condo: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=35971

Attie continues to run a little higher than I like, but this too shall get under control soon,....paws crossed on that. We appear to be revisiting LTS for a few review courses.

Much purring this morning. In fact Attie was at the foot of the bed purring so loud, as I laid there in the twilight between sleep and wake, I pondered what the noise was in my room.

The ravenous type hunger seems to have returned with Attie at these numbers. He is tenacious right now trying to get into Mudcat's fuds. :YMSIGH: When he was running more towards the greens he wasn't like this and that kibbie bowl could sit out in Mudcat's elevated feeding spot all day and not get scarfed. :YMSIGH: This morning he ate all his rabbit and is now snuffling around under the table looking for crumbs Mudcat may have dropped and I have heard him jump up on the table 3 times triple checking that the kibbies are gone.

MudCat's a tiny wisp of a cat as it is and denying her access to food has always made me nervous. We feed her first. Lately about 5am and then start fussing over Atlas. Get his morning test, pull out his frozen rabbit, defrost one medallion in the microwave, cut it up, wash his feeder, prep his shot, feed him, and then shoot him. I take my time doing this as in-between MudCat is eating her fuds and Attie is sitting raptured at my feet waiting for his fuds. Then there are morning like today that the jealousy kicks in from my Tortie MudCat and she won't eat unless she gets petted the whole time, ohmygod_smile. So there I am this morning with coffee finally in one hand, Attie eating his fuds on the floor and MudCat purring away eating her fuds...a bite for every stroke...on the table! Of course I really shouldn't complain too much as MudCat is a very shy creature and mornings like this are the only times one can pet her for any extended length of time, scratch her behind the ears, and get her purring.

Sidenote:  Last night when Gary was fed Attie was none too happy about it. Normally Attie will sit just inside the sliding door while I put out Gary's bowl. Last night he rushed the door and was quite the hissy missy about me feeding Gary.

There were times when Krueger was still alive that Attie would shove Krueger off his food. I would have to go pick up the bowl and return it to Krueger. Well, have you ever seen those aggressive dog feeding tests? You know the one where they use the rubber hand and arm on a stick to take the food bowl away? I would use a yardstick to slide the bowl out from Attie. After being growled at and swatted I thought it was best to maybe not put my hand in direct contact with the bowl in question.

So getting him back down to low blues and low yellows is now imperative for the sanity of the bean and the food stability of the house.

PS: So grateful for the tip about smilies!

Re: 2/5 Atlas 193

You have a gift with the animals. They are so lucky to have a kind patient and understanding bean.

Wonder why Attie's so hungry all of a sudden. Maverick goes through periods of inappetance, maybe Attie goes through periods where he needs more food?

Gary on his house just made my day. I'm so glad I know what he looks like. I had a much different mental image and I like the real thing so much better.

Re: 2/5 Atlas 193, +3 274

This is very puzzling indeed.... numbers are supposed to go down at +3, not up Attie...

Why are you climbing? And hungry to the point of scrounging?

Time for a vet trip?

Climbing numbers = now out of regulation again
Hungry = regulation issue

Bowel & urine appear fine.

Not as playful as a week ago, but still very much interested in birdwatching, cat watching, chasing his ball, and still does a butt wiggle getting ready to play a game of chase. Sounds all normal, just activity time is shorter. Could all be regulation related...

Maybe it's "backwards" day -- Gabby's numbers are going in reverse, as well. I think they do this to make sure we aren't getting complacent.

Re: 2/5 Atlas 193, +3 274

Always challenging to try to figure out the numbers...on cats. sigh. Hope he comes down a bit ...to your comfort zone soon....
Gary looks so healthy...what a great picture! I love it! Handsome boy!
Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

Love the photo of Gary in the sun - that made my day too. what a handsome guy.

And Attie - what's up with those numbers dude? Back to the greens - they suit you well.

I too agree - you have a gift with animals - you really do.

I love the food stories - nice to know that there are others that have kitties with woof expectations. :-D :-D

hey Attie - us kitties are going hiking today - you wanna come? See you, I hope. ~~ Mannie

Finally have a few pics of this little guy to share...a client's new dog I'm helping out with housebreaking and crate training.

Oh he is such a cutie and so good, so sweet....

Hi Beth - how you been? I don't want to hijack your thread, but I need a kitty shrink. If you aren't around over the next couple days to post in Shadow's condo, I'll come back here and post my questions. K?

I have a sweet scrawny orinche kitty named Pablo. i didn't know you worked with dogs as well as cats. Man I wish you lived nearer to me. :-D
