Scooter has had a couple pretty good days! Saturday afternoon he did not seem to feel good at all or eat much. I got up about 1:00 Sunday morning to check on him and see if he would eat, but he didn’t. Sunday morning, when I got up he started yelling at me to feed him. This is very unusual for Scooter. He almost never makes a sound. He ate pretty well all day Sunday and seemed to feel better. He even ate a little bit by himself during the night Sunday. Yesterday he did not eat that well, but seemed much perkier. He has been having pretty runny poos. I haven’t known if it was his illness or changing around foods to get him to eat. He had a normal poo yesterday, so I’m thinking it the food.
Scooter will not eat the same food on the same day. He will only eat a freshly opened can. And will only eat from the can (not a bowl or plate) and I must hold it. This is a big change from my mostly easy un picky boy. I haven’t gotten him to eat much this morning, but he seems fairly perky this morning. If he doesn’t eat more today, I’m afraid I’ll have to start syringe feeding him, which he really dislikes.
Thank you all for the prayers, vines and support. It is helping

Thanks for the update Jill! I'm glad to hear he's a bit perkier! I hope you don't have to syringe feed...give him a little time...sometimes maybe they need to work up an appetite... just like us :) Have a good day Jill...sending you big hugs! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Happy to hear that he's perkier today! I found with Boomer that sometimes if I fed him just a bit of food from a syringe, it wet his appy enough that he would then eat on his own. Another thing to try is spoon feeding him.

Lots of positive vines and prayers your way, I'm not sure how I missed your recent vetty visit post. He's still the same sweet boy, try and not focus on what you can't control :bighug:. Time to eat your fuds Scooter, mama has a smorgasbord just waiting for you! I used to joke with my local pet supply folks that I could compete with them in terms of my selections of foods available in my pantry :).

If the appy continues to be iffy, you may want to ask your vet about an appetite stimulant?

So happy to hear sweetie Scooter is feeling pretty well. I'll be thinking of you and hope you get some good news tomorrow. :bighug:
