Re: 2/4 Rusty AMPS 141, +5.5 111, +9.5 121, PMPS 146
Hi again,
Rusty may be having a bounce from his low number yesterday (40). He ate well today, but seemed under the weather this afternoon. The vet called with the results of his urinalysis: nothing remarkable; I'll pick up the results next week. But she is concerned about his breathing (which has always been noisy and congested, but she thought it was more so than at his last visit, in October). She is going to take x-rays next week. He will have to be sedated and left there for the day.
Now, as for the 'fridge: it is kaput! It was doing OK all day until the late afternoon, when it started to make that really loud noise again (like a motorcycle). It is running, but losing it's cold, so I think the compressor is gone. We moved Rusty's insulin back into the cooler, put lots of stuff from the freezer out on the front porch (where it is well below freezing and expected to go below Zero tonight), and put stuff from the 'fridge out in the mud room (which is a steady 50 degrees). Tomorrow we are going to buy a compact 'fridge to tide us over until our new one arrives. The reasons it will take so long to get the new one: we live in the sticks; we need a specific size to fit into a recessed, closet-like space. Most new refrigerators are too big for the space. We are getting a Maytag with freezer on the bottom, like our present one (I could never go back to the freezer-on-top type!).
So that's where we are tonight. Sorry I didn't get to any condos, but am heading there now.
Wishing you all a good evening, and thanks for visiting us,
Ella & Rusty
