Been working with my mom to train her to test Max as my backup. She did her first successful test last night with just a little help from me cuddling Max to keep him still. I figure she will for sure need someone (my dad) to cuddle him while she tests cause he's a wiggler. Just glad that she's getting it, so I can go on my trip in a few weeks and not worry or not worry as much.

Maybe also teach her how to turn him into a kitty burrito with a towel in case she needs to test and there is no one around to hold. Always good to have a plan B :-D

Congratulations to your mom on her first successful blood test for Max! Yes, those 'wiggly' kitties can be a bit of a challenge to test.

Does he like to sit in laps? Or sit right next to you? Then sitting in a chair of on the sofa, kind of holding him tucked in against your side, sort of like a football may help. Of course, Max is a kitty and may not want to have anything to do with that idea. ;-)

Max was terrible to test at first, just terrible. I used to not be able to test him by myself and had to have my mom help hold and cuddle him. I thought I would never get it and was so jealous of people that could test their kitties on their own, and then one day he kind of settled down. I generally sit on the floor and test Max on my lap, but when he's hungry and extra wiggly for the pre-shot tests, I sit with my legs crossed and Max in the middle to contain him. ;-) My mom is older so there's no floor sitting for her. She usually sits on the couch and has Max on her lap. I cuddle his face to keep him distracted and still. I'll have to think about the "football" idea and how that could work. I'm just so relieved she's been able to do some tests.
