Buttons still aren't working for me. Yesterday: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=35882

Hi guys. Haven't tested/shot Maverick yet. I'll be testing shooting and running out the door to meet up with my mom. If its surprising, I won't shoot and I'll post from my iphone. Maverick never ever gives surprises and even shooting in low 60s he surfs low 60s or rises from there. But I'm normally home.

He's sleeping away on the sofa seat beside me. His eating has improved so no chicken dust is needed. Wish I knew what makes him decide not to eat some days.

Its FRIDAY *dancing*. Its been a long week and I will be so thankful for the weekend. Happy Friday everyone.

Re: 2/4 Maverick

Morning Karrie! Happy Friday to you and Maverick, too! Enjoy your time with your Mom today, too, and we will catch up later with you.

Re: 2/4 Maverick

Morning Karrie! Sounds like a busy one for you. Enjoy. And Maverick - surf well today.

No buttons for me too. There is a condo out here from yesterday from Ann, that shows how to type the codes, without the buttons - if you rally want them. Not too hard.

Re: 2/4 Maverick

Kazi does the same thing to me every couple of months... I think she is just fussy! I have to use chicken/salmon/sirloin dust on a daily basis to get her to eat enough - she is always excited for mealtime and then usually eats about half before walking away.

Re: 2/4 Maverick

Good morning guys .. I'm glad that maverick is eating better for you and I hope he doesn't give you any surprises .. have a nice time with your mom and have a great weekend!

Re: 2/4 Maverick

It's Friday, grabs your hands and dances with you!

Hope Maverick has indeed given you no surprises.

I'm so glad its Friday!!!! So much to tell.

We are seeing greens again. Yippee. .10 units. Messed up by not entering the values in the spreadsheet though. Iphone alarms are only helpful if they are set right. I'm so used to testing at midnight for a +3. I tested at midnight last night but it was only +2. Doh!

I went to Ontario Medical Supply as they said they had an alternative to BD syringes in 1/2 unit markings 3/10cc. None of the other pharmacies have these in anything but BD. Must be a Canada thing. Haven't used them yet but zero sure looks like 0 with these syringes. We pulled out a syringe to test and it was perfect. Not sure if this is what you guys in the US call "monojects". They are a safety syringe which I've never heard of before. They have a wierd clearish cap that goes over the syringe/tip that isn't removable but bends the syringe after use. The packaging says: tyco/Healthcare KENDALL Monoject(TM) Safety Syringe. 3/10ml 29G x 1/2". I'm not used to using a long needle. There may be lots of furshots in our future.

Important annoucement: Deli ham (in the presliced packages) contain corn syrup. I can't remember if I gave Maverick some or not. If he's by our dog begging I'd just normally give him a treat too. Why it took me a few days to read the ingredients I don't know. I assumed it was pure ham. (slap forehead smilie here).

Two questions:

DH may have shot duty tomorrow night. You guys say I can't predraw a syringe. How am I going to teach him microdosing?

I left the Lantus out on the counter TWICE in two days (double smack head smilie). Both for about three hours each time. Chuck it and start a new one or are we good. Its was opened Dec 31 I believe with half a cartridge left (I waste a lot drawing up the syringes).

Hi Karrie,
Yay for some greens. Good luck with the DH training. I bet he catches on fast! Wow, I don't know what to say about the cartridges. I remember I left my Lantus vial out for quite a while and was sure it would be bad. I called the Pharmacy, and they said it should be okay. Maggie's numbers weren't off, so it was okay but it was the vial not the cartridges.

Karrie --I use duct tape & wrap it around the syringe at the line to which I want the shot drawn..I do this for my DPS who is a vet tech so Moonie can gets her right dose--Wrap the tip of the tape around the bottom of needle---Then he can draw to the line you make with the tape--
Try it yourself with water in the syringe to be sure he will draw to right line!--hope it helps!:)

I'm glad Maverick is eating better and has some green numbers again. I am sure you are relieved. I also am nervous about my DH giving the micro dose of insulin. I love the idea from Roni about the tape -- I am definitely going to give it a try.

So glad to hear that Maverick's numbers are heading back towards the greens, and so glad your syringe-hunt looks to have found you a better option for microdosing! I'm sure that's quite a relief! Still looking for the right syringe. Willie likes the comfort of the monoject, but i tend to get really big bubbles, that seem impossible to get out, even using Ella's fantastic tips.

Hope you are having a wonderful Friday evening! The weekend is here!!! *happydance*

:-D Yay, I'm testing my smilies on you and Maverick. So glad Maverick is getting back on track. Have a good night. You asked about the acupuncture. I think it is helping my cervical spine pain.

Hi Karrie, So glad to see Maverick back in good numbers. That's a great tip Roni gave you about the duct tape (what would we do without duct tape?? I carry it on every ski trip and every paddle, just in case something breaks.). Those safety syringes sound interesting. Apparently they are made by Monoject. But the Monoject syringes I buy from Hocks are just normal-looking syringes.

Have a good Friday evening. I understand that Ottawa is having a big winter carnival this weekend. So is Saranac Lake!

Very nice for Mav today and glad you got some new syringes!! I don't care for the long ones....Gracie likes the short ones because they come in the smaller gauge. She told me

Mike and I have been working on him drawing microdoses and giving the shot. Roni had a great idea!! Mike is so worried he'll do a fur shot but I told him it's ok...if it happens, it does and he'll learn from it but so far he's done awesome. Your DH will too! Hope you had a great day with your mom.
