Hope everyone is doing well today. Sorry for the lack of responses yesterday-it was another crazy day.
So, Fred had a nice hour or so in hypo on Wednesday. I was out for the afternoon and just had a bad feeling something was going to happen, even with such a high pre-shot. I think we get that in tune with our babies! I tore home, and sure enough! I was relatively calm about it (for me..lol) because he was just about at his nadir. I resisted carbing him up with anything other than his normal food, but I did go for a smear of Karo to get out of immediate danger. He came up to safety quickly. I really thought he'd be high by PMPS, but not so much.
A bit of the same yesterday. He is now bouncing all over the place. *sigh* I know it makes him feel crummy.
When the vet said Fred likely should have been hospitalized, I felt beyond horrid. Of all times, I was away for the worst of it, or I absolutely would have brought him in, at least for the day. But leaving him overnight, in Fred's case, would probably have made him worse. He will NOT eat at the vet. Of course, if he was in any kind of worse state, we'd have no choice. I really need to learn to do fluids at home!
