DC's BG is a little higher than what I'd like, but considering how low he was last night, I'm thinking so far it's not so bad.
Especially with all the HC & MC food.
All P's are in place and he seems to be his normal self.
I did manage to get about 2 hours of sleep with DC curled up on top of me.
I gave DC 1.5 units for his AM shot, since obviously 1.75 units was too much.
From there I guess I will have to see how the day goes, maybe It will have to be a f1.5
I'm going to go lay down for a while. I will post again later.

Now DC's BG is pretty much the highest it's ever been.
Except for his 1st week on Lantus and in September when he was with the PS and ate some dog food.
Obviously it's a bounce from the 38 he had 13 hours ago.
Is it normal for the bounce to be this high this quick?
Is there something I should be doing for it?
Ketones are negative at least.

Come on DC come back down. Right now I'd be happy just to see some yellow.
He seems fine. He's sleeping right now.
But he's been eating and all P's are in place.

It's a bounce. Sorry. It's not that unusual to see a fast spike in numbers. If you consider that the liver dumping stored glucose is a means of protecting the body from low numbers, it makes perfect sense that the rise would be relatively fast. It will clear.

So I shouldn't worry about it?
Do you think that going back to 1.5 units is the way to go?
He only had 2 shots at 1.75 units.
I guess I'll have to try and get more PM +6 tests. It's possible that he was going low in the night for a while and I just wasn't aware of it.
I have a hard time getting PM data due to the fact that his shot times are around 12am & pm.
I always get one before bed. but most of the time that's only at +3.

I would not want your shot time!!! So let me ask the obvious, is there any way to change your shot time so it's not as grueling to get the PM spot checks?

The 38 really does require a dose reduction. It doesn't matter that it happened after only 2 shots. We always push that sometimes you have to bring the dose up before the numbers come down. DC just proved the point.

My problem is, we are gone alot in the evenings from 8 - midnight. Tomorrow I will not be home to do his shot until 12:30.
After that I will be moving it back a little at a time. Good thing I'm still on disability and don't work.
Then in mid March I will have to do a 2am shot time. So I will have to gradually move the time up and back again.
After that everything will be good though. I would like him on about a 9:30 shot time.
His shot time actually got screwed up when he had the low @ shot time mid November and I had to shoot 2 hours late.

The half hour shift tomorrow shouldn't be a problem. If you are really concerned, move DC's shot 15 min. later in the AM and then 15 min. in the PM. You can shift the times either by 15 min. at each shot time or once a day by 30 min. (or less).

The other thing to keep in mind is that if you ever have a number that's too low to shoot and you have to skip, you can adjust the time by a few hours (if necessary) all at once.

Still red, but starting to come down a bit.
DC seems hungrier than normal. He's constantly wanting food, but I guess that's normal with the higher BG.
He seems fine in every other way though.
