The stinky pinks are still here. However, I am down to the near bottom of the bottle of Lantus. We were still in the reds with our last new vial but I wonder if the end of the vial isn't as potent. I hate wasting any of it because it's so expensive but I may go ahead and get a new vial today. We may venture out of the house.

All P's are in place, and the new feeding schedule seems to be working ok. Just means I have to get up in the middle of the night. But I have to anyway, so...whatevs!

Thanks for the visits and kind words yesterday. They were helpful!

Have a great Tuesday!

~Suzanne

Yeah, Cobb HAS lost the red. HOping that the new vial will help to bring down his #s some more. He IS looking great, though. :-D You're both doing a wonderful job.

nice blue surf night before last, too! i used vials to the last drop, too! they are too expensive to toss out. i think with blues night before last your insulin is still working. at least that's my guess.

is he flinching or reacting at all to the shots? lantus is acidic - so if he's reacting to the shots then lev is an option that is a neutral ph and doesn't sting. usually we encourage people to give an insulin at least 6 months, but sometimes when kitties get into the larger doses it becomes more of an issue.

costs are about the same for either insulin.

Julie! Where have you been?!?! I've missed your posts!

We had one ouchie last week but none since. I'm keeping my eye out for it. I figure this next vial should last is to when our annual exam should be so we'll discuss it with her. I've decided we're going to go see Perry and Sooty's vet. She has experience with high dose cats, and after looking at Sooty's SS ,I doubt she'll flinch at Cobb's dose!

We're ending this cycle back in the yellows...although a relatively flat cycle. Hopefully the yellow translates into some blue this cycle.

hehe i've been gone to the coast on a quilting retreat with my girlfriends . . . i would say these are things you get to do when your kids grow up, but we started going when we had babies. 4 of us met in a "live and learn with your baby" class at the community college and here we are, with those babies being 27 & 28 now. We had a play group from the class, then ditched the kids and started going out in the evenings. Now there are 4 from the original group and we have 4 others who've added on since.

in fact, my eldest daughter (that baby) just announced she's engaged! we're on to a new phase of life! :-D

i wondered how everyone here was, but i resisted even taking my computer out of my bag - to get online you have to go out of the a-frame house to the owner's office. just enough of a nuisance that i didn't even consider it. ;-) plus i knew i'd get sucked in for at least 2 hrs if i checked in. most check-ins end up being that long for me!

perry's vet will no doubt be awesome!

Congratulations, mama of the bride! How exciting!!

We're in the awkward place where we have a baby but our good friends don't. We need more new parent friends!!

It's nice to get away though. I don't quilt but it sounds very relaxing!!

Hi Suzanne,
I think Cobb is looking good. I'm glad that you're going to see Perry and Sooty's vet, too.
Sorry that you had to give up ~O) . I gave it up once, but only lasted for 6 months. Now all the health people say that coffee is really good for you, and they are finding more and more benefits every day.

Have a good evening. Cobb made it down to the Yellow Team. Nice!

Thanks Ella!!

I stopped drinking coffee when we decided to try for a baby. Then my dr didn't want me to drink it. And since I'm breastfeeding, I just continued with the no caffeine because I really wanted to be successful at it. Whenever I go back to work, I think ~O) will be a must. Not sure I can do everything in doing now, plus a full time job!!! I'll figure out how to juggle it all but ~O) will be a must, I'm sure.

I think Perry and Sooty's vet will be helpful. Perry said she was very supportive and that's definitely what we need!

Nice start to the evening for Cobb...you guys are doing awesome!

I had given up coffee for about 15 years....started up again about 2 months after Trix's diagnosis. Now I can't imagine being without it  . Oh well - it's all good!

Have a great evening, Suzanne!!
