Yeah, I have a feeling another dosecrease is on the horizon. I think I need to begin noting when we start new cases of food. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly when we started this case, but I think this rise in numbers may started when roughly when we did. It's still Wellness 5.5oz Made in the USA, but it definitely has a different consistency than the previous case. I have to say, I am always suspicious of Wellness for so many reasons, and this is what Trix was eating when she was diagnosed. Shortly after diagnosis, I tried other fuds (Merrick's BG, EVO, Etc, before we settled on Fancy Feast and Purina One), and she did so much better on them than the Wellness, but she REALLY hated them. Any time I tried out some Wellness back in those days, her BGs would bounce all over the place. I'm probably grasping at straws, but I really do wonder if Wellness's recipe varies enough from batch to batch to cause these wonky numbers. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised.

Early morning frustrated with FD and snow musings!

It is snowing hard yet again...we're expecting 5"-8". I'm opening the store anyway...I'm tired of the weather forcing when I take my days off!!! I'm sure I'll close early (I'm working by myself today), but I don't want today to my day off this week.

Yeah, I decided to close the store after all...it is snowing way too hard, and I forgot there is an under-layer of ice from the rain and sleet we had before the snow started. Argh.

Hi guys .. Sorry to hear you are frustrated .. I am sure at one point in time all of us have tried grasping at straws to make sense of numbers so you know we understand .. Bummer on the snow .. it's headed this way tomorrow .. we got got 6in on Saturday .. it's a real pain when you're shoveling and you have to lift the shovel higher then your head to throw it on the snow mound! have a great day guys!

Ah Trixie....best find those greens or it is more juice for you. I so hear you n the Wellness. It can be such a game with that food,. it was Mannie's staple: chicken and turkey. He did OK with it. FF was the one that we had issues with. Some of the would really spike his BG, even though they were all the same carb count . We did alot with merrick too - he just loved Surf n Turf and Cowboy Cookout... guess thought hat they have changed their formulas, ad the carb counts are up from what they used to be. ?? Crazy fuds dance we all play.

oh my on the snow.... more snow.... so sorry you had to close the store yet again. I used to hate it too when weather determined my days off... well I hope you will enjoy the time at home with the kitties.

I hope Trixie slides down today. It is frustrating that there is not more consistency with the batches of food. Sorry about the unwanted snow day. I hope your weather gets better soon.

I wish I could help you with the Wellness. But the Canadian Wellness in the 3 oz. cans really is much tastier (according to Rusty) than the USA Wellness in the 5.5 oz cans. I'm sorry that Trixie didn't like it. I love the way the turkey and the chicken smell when I open the Canadian cans. They smell like the real thing.

How I long for the days when I was oblivious to the difference in cat foods :lol: Never to be again though. Hope you are able to figure out what is making Trixie have wonky numbers and that you get a consistent batch of food.

I've really had enough of this. This is my favorite tree...a gorgeous split leaf maple. I hope it survives today, and the storms predicted for Wednesday and the weekend. Our neighbor's tree, which is more than half dead, on the property line, and she refuses to remove, dropped yet another very large branch on our roof, fence, and air conditioner. ENOUGH!!!!

I'm sorry on the fuds...good idea to check that out! I'm sure carb content can change from batch to batch...I remember a post about it where people were discussing that. Too bad on the unexpected day off :roll: I hope the snow stops soon so you can open, when you want to!

Nice little slide there, Trixie. Be careful on that ice, it can be slippery! Don't slide too fast or too far. Just ease on down. :-D

Sorry you had to close the snow due to the weather, Amy. Wish you could send that snow here. That was a beautiful picture! Hope Trixie continues on the path she's on the rest of the day.

Trixie - bean's trigger finger is getting itchy - better work that juice a bit more.

I am so glad I'm not serving Wellness other than as a back up food anymore. I so remember days of scouring stores for particular lot #'s and just did that a while ago scooping up the last of the fuds from the now closed California plant for Lucy/Mariko. Now that my kitties are on a raw diet, they think anything from a can is a treat. :lol: Good luck on the fuds hunt. We shouldn't have to be looking at lot numbers. :roll:

Your snow pic does look lovely, but I think it would look much better on top of a mountain. Our plants here aren't really used to snow either and I usually go and take a broom to the bushes to shake off the worse of the load. I hope your tree survives.

Sebastian loves Wellness also. I give it to him for his evening meal and it doesn't seem to affect him..that's when he has dipped to 35 in the last week...twice. ECID though. I hope you figure it out.

I am SO OVER this freakin' winter weather also only I NEVER get snow days cause I work from home. So I have to deal with ours here in NJ and everybody else's which has been crazy this year. I just can't wait till this darned winter is O V E R !! I feel your pain :-|

Meh on that PMPS...that dosecrease threat is starting to look clearer, Trix!

Today's snow event has basically stopped, so DH has started the snow removal portion of this lovely weather. And, we have more to look forward to later this week...including possibly 2 feet or more over the weekend. Hooray :roll: .

Wow! That's a lot of snow. We would be happy to have it. I can't believe you posted a snow picture, Amy. :shock: :shock: :shock: Trix, give your bean a break and get back to the nice, warm, summery lagoon. We need to start a cat food company. And let's do insulin while we're at it. :lol: :lol:

I would be beyond thrilled if I could deliver this snow to anywhere other than here!

I agree...we need to start a fuds company. I'm tired of that frustration, too. This weather is making me very cranky!!

I sooooooo wish I could transport this snow to all you guys who want it! IF we get the 2+ feet they are talking about this weekend, well, I don't think any of you will want to be around me !!!

Your snowy backyard looks very picturesque. I don't think you have to worry about your favorite tree. Trees are well equipped to deal with weather at this time of year, when the leaves are down. If it loses a branch or two, we refer to that as "Mother Nature's pruning"). Now, your neighbor's neglecting to take down their dead tree is another matter, especially since it caused damage to your house.

I hope you find the right combination of dosecrease and fuds for Trixie. But flat blue might mean something. Watch out!!

We've been battling the neighbor about that tree for years now. Half of it came down during Sandy, and she STILL refuses to take down the rest of it. When I said something about it possibly falling on our house, her response was "Well, we'll worry about that when it happens." Gotta stop before my blood starts boiling again!!!
 
Hey Amy, sit down, put your feet up, and pour yourself a glass of something!! Then put a record by The Boss on the player and have a good evening (is he still your favorite singer?). And as far as the weather goes: fuhgeddaboutit.

Thanks Ella....excellent advice! And yes, The Boss is still my absolute, all-time complete and utter favorite!! I'm going to go do just that right now....wine and Bruce. Works for me!
 
One of our trees fell on the neighbor's house - oops! Luckily, it did absolutely no damage. The insurance agent asked if the neighbors had ever complained about the tree and they hadn't so the insurance wouldn't cover it!!! So maybe you should write a letter to your neighbor so you have a record of complaining, if and when it does fall and causes damage.

That's interesting, Liz. I think we do need to take some action here. This tree has been dropping major branches on our house for years...we've been lucky so far. We have complained, but not in writing...

That's interesting that you think a different batch of Wellness affects Trixie's BG.
I'll pay attention to that in future too.
I know it's so annoying how inconsistent Wellness is.
