Hi everyone,
I've been checking in and trying to keep up with everybody. I've been spending time in the PZI board trying to get a dosing regime figured out for Sid and I wasn't sure of the posting protocol and if I should only post in one group at a time or what so that is why I was absent lately.
I have a happy vet report. Sid spent the afternoon at the vet getting a checkup and chest xray. It has been just about a week since he was diagnosed with pneumonia. His lungs are much clearer!! His breathing rate was still high (50/min) but his lungs are markedly better. He now weighs 5.8 pounds (up from 4.4 when he left the hospital on 2/4) :RAHCAT :RAHCAT AND he had a solid stool this morning and NO KETONES once again today!!
His bg levels are a little bit better with the increase in insulin so I couldn't be happier with his progress. We just take it one day at a time. And I am happy for every good day we are having. My vet was telling what a good job I was doing but you know what, it isn't me. It is Sid! He is the one who is a fighter and isn't going to go down easy. And I am very lucky to have such a great little guy in my life. (Even when he sprays the wall in the dining room right on the electrical outlet which he did last night).
