Simon has been having a nice run of numbers on this dose. Lots of blues with some greens and a few yellows thrown in. Has been extra snuggly, probably due to the cold, but I want to think it is because he loves his mamabean (of course he does!).

I have a question: It seems like his fur is coming out more than usual, especially in his back area and back legs. I can easily pull tufts of hair out. He doesn't look bald or anything, but I am wondering if anyone else has this problem with their geriatric cat? Is it because of his age and it goes along with getting older, kind of like the same thing that happens with people and their hair? He is 17 1/2.

Have a great day everyone. I am off to volunteer at the cat shelter and then I have to go to a big black tie fundraiser tonight to raise money for an Alzheimer's caregiver program. It is for a good cause but I would rather be home in my sweatpants and sitting with DH and my kitties. :)

It's great Simon is doing so well on this dose. I don't know about the fur coming out thing. I've never noticed that with any of my older kitties, but it could be an ECID thing. Is he pulling any of it out?

Carla, no he is not pulling the hair. I am thinking he is not able to get back there as much and unable to groom so maybe the hair is just something that normally he would take care of on his own.

Haven't had the issue with Vyktor (18 1/2) but the rabbit is a different story I'm constantly pulling tufts out of her! Looking good Simon

Looking good, Simon! Nice and flat. Easy does it!

Not sure on the hair. Does he have some arthritis and it's tough for him to groom those spots? Does he have some dandruff or dryness in those areas? Our oldest obese civie doesn't groom himself as much as he should (although he's grooming more as he's lost weight!), and he does have a lot of excess shedding on his back towards his tail and his rear end. We spend extra time brushing those areas to get rid of loose hair.
