Good morning, LL!

We got all the important Ps!
I could tell that Ripley was in the blues this morning ~ she greeted me with "I'm hungry" chirps.

Yet she's still not super crazy about her food. It's a mix of Wellness Turkey and Cowboy Cookout. She's tried Wellness Chicken before, but seemed to like it less than the turkey flavor. I'm going to petco today & I'll get a can of the W.Chicken, to see if she'll be happy with it. I wish there were more options of low carb+low phosphorus+good quality foods for Miss Picky. (It also doesn't help that civvie kitty gets FF, what was and will always be Ripley's favorite food ever.)

I hope everyone has a great day today!

Nice start for Ripley!!! Hope a great cycle is coming--Thinking of you--Hope you got pkg--Hugs & Love from me!

Re: 2/28 Ripley AMPS 165

good start to the day, ripley will eat if she gets hungry enough, she could just be staging a hunger strike.
come ripley eats for mommy

Re: 2/28 Ripley AMPS 165

It's so hard when they don't love their food, AND civvies get something else. I've got some civvies who will not touch canned food, even if their lives depended on it. Needless to say, having kibbles in the house makes poor Trix nuts sometimes! Good luck on the fuds hunt. In the meantime...lovely start for Ripley!!

Re: 2/28 Ripley AMPS 165

Morning Josie, we're also having food wars here, too. Mags will semi eat the Cowboy Cookout, but moves it around the dish quite a bit! I also need to feed low Phosphorus. Glad Ripley is doing well with all P's. Have a great day.

Re: 2/28 Ripley AMPS 165

Morning Josie! Have you tried any of the Evo 96%? It's the only food other than FF Kismet will eat. He also gets 1/4 of a can of Merrick's Before Grain 95% Chicken added to each meal, but he won't eat it by itself (snob.) Hope you guys have a great day!

Hi, ((Roni)) -- Thanks for visiting today. It's always good to 'hear' your voice. The pkg is still en route, maybe held up by the big storm. But you are amazing for sending it. Thankfully, Ripley hasn't needed an enema this week  .

Hi, Sam -- Luckily, Ripley ate all of her bfast before I left for work this morning, though rather reluctantly. I have some new flavors to try out tonight.

Hi, Amy -- Thank you -- it is tricky when each animal eats something different, they they all want each others' fuds.

Hi, Ann -- It seems Ripley is still undecided about the CC. She definitely has a hard time with the chunks (but I do, too ~ are they really necessary?)

Hi, Courtney -- I found a local feed store that carries Evo 95%. Gonna try it on her tonight. Ripley won't even touch Merrick's BG. Kitties. Jeesh.

Ripley's such a cutie pie. I can tell she's feeling good when: a)she greets me at the door when I come home; b)she begs to be let outside to go bask in the backyard; c)when she purrs and leans into me while I'm testing her ear; and d)when she's in the blues.

Hi Josie. Ripely is having a nice day. I hope the Wellness Chicken got her appetite fired up.

Have a great night.

So far today:
AMPS 159
+9 147
+11.5 127
PMPS 118

 !! First green in a while!!

Food update: Tried EVO 95% Chicken&Turkey. Shunned. Then tried Wellness Chicken. No go.
She'll eat food (slowly) with an abundance of crushed freeze-dried shrimp, so I guess I better stock up.
I'm starting to wonder if she's discouraged to eat because of something I'm adding to her food (rather than being tired of the flavor of the food itself). Current additions: phos.binder, miralax, b vitamins, slippery elm bark powder. (For the Wellness Chicken experiment, I left out the slippery elm bark. Didn't make a difference.) Also adding squash baby food/pumpkin (she likes both).

Yeah! A nice green! Surf Ripley, surf the lagoon this evening...
From my experience, adding too much to the food does impact their appy to eat esp cats appy bascially based on the smell of their food. I'd suggest adding the topping into smaller portion meal. Like you said Ripley loves squash, after adding in the squash, do you need to add the Miralax, & slippery elm? I'd add the phos binder to another tiny tsp portion & make sure she eats it. Is there a specific reason for the Vit B?
I think as they are having the insulin jabs, finishing their regular meal is important. Just my two cents. :YMPEACE:

Hi, Rosy's mom -- Thank you for the idea of splitting up her food. I'll try it tomorrow. :-D (I add B-vitamins due to her CKD, and she's constipation-prone so most of the other additions are to help keep her regular.)

It's a peaceful evening in Ripley's home.
Kitties are snuggling with blankies and beans.
