Good Afternoon All,

Marco's PS numbers seem to be jumping all around. I'm going to make a vettybean appointment hopefully for this weekend (ETA: appt set for Saturday at 11:15am) to make sure he is okay. nailbite_smile I'm going to gather more data tonight so that perhaps some of you here can give me some thoughts of your own.

He seems to be feeling fine. He has a hard time going poo sometimes, but he isn't dehydrated or totally constipated. Sometimes it'll come out very watery and then the hard poo will come out soon after. I'm deathly afraid that they are going to tell me he has cancer like his Mommy did... :YMSIGH: it's why I've put off the vet appointment for so long.

He plays every day with his toys, calls out while he brings them to me. He chases his little bouncy ball, sleeps on the bed while we are gone to work. And cuddles with us on the couch while we wind down for the evening.

I really hope it's nothing, but something has to be the cause for the variance in his numbers.

Hi guys! I think it is always good to go to the vet if there are any worries or concerns. It wold be good for your piece of mind. I know you worry, especially after loosing his mom. Marco sound s perfectly healthy, and do go so you now for sure.

Marco's numbers look decent to me - lots of low blues, some greens. It's hard to say for sure what's going on with Marco without a few more spot tests. There can be a meter variance between tests, even one after another. Good luck - I hope the vet appt goes well.

A peace of mind visit may bring you peace of mind.

Maverick dealt with constipation for months when we switched him to wet food. His body needed a source of fiber that wasn't in the wet food. (Beet pulp). I had read this on felineconstipation.org: "liquid stool from above leaking past impacted stool below, giving an appearance or impression of diarrhea". Maybe this is what you are dealing with.

Are you giving mirilax/restoralax consistently to keep water in the stool? Cisapride didn't help Maverick at all. Adding the new fiber source got things going and he started pooping well. Unfortunately adding back in some kibble caused his diabetes to come back. But once his stomach was used to the wet food we didn't need the old fiber source.
