Good Grief Leo! grr_red

All is well in Leo's world, we had a good test, shoot and a so-so feed, apparently Leo isn't a fan of Sophisticat T&G anymore....DGpa tried telling me that last week and i found out this morning, we shall take it off the menu! We had a good feed with some FF chicken and Leo is just polishing off his dish at the moment. DGma is here helping me pack and clean and Leo likes having his DGma here, she says he's a very different loving kitty with me.

When i went to bed last night Leo was 216 as opposed to his usual pink bounce from yesterday mornings nice run of greens so i was quite surprised at this mornings red! Vetty visit today!!! We have an early appointment so no BTB for us this morning. Looks like Leo will need KTSS to stop by later to get the smell out.

Moving day tomorrow too, so keep fingers and paws crossed that the day isn't too stressful for Mr. Leo.

I'll update when we get back from the vetty, should be around +5 or so. Have a great day all! :-D

I was thinking Leo might be a little stressed out by all the packing and cleaning, so far he's been really good about it. I've made sure to tell him that we're moving a bazillion times. DGma walked by him yesterday with a clock, he took one look at it and gave it a big hiss..... :lol: :lol: That's the only time i've seen him stressed out.

Wish us luck that all Leo needs is another good dental cleaning and no toofies taken out! Or no dental at all!

Tracy, sending lots of good Vetty vines for Leo. I used to feed Maggie Sophisticat FF T & G, and then all of a sudden she stopped liking it. They changed something in the formula, and I think that was why all of a sudden yuck from Maggie. I bet Leo is high from knowing something is up with the packing. I'll be watching for an update. Leo don't be scared. Kitties will come visit later and remove Vetty smell.

I tell ya, I hate when food companies mess around with formulas grr_red . They may claim they don't, but our kitties don't lie!

I wouldn't be surprised if the packing is stressing him a bit, even if he seems calm. He's probably just trying to keep up that "Yeah, it's cool, it's cool" appearance so he doesn't worry you...what a good boy!

Well the results are in and unanimous..........LEO IS TOO FAT!!!!!! As soon as we walked in Dr. Andrea commented that he's gained weight. She checked his teeth thoroughly and they look good, no need for a dental, no tartar. She says this fall he will most likely need a dental cleaning. She did an exam as well and everything looked good. I asked her to do some bloodwork just to rule out everything and calm my nerves, results will be in tomorrow, she said Leo was a very good boy during the blood draw, not a peep out of him. We chatted about Leo's life and was there any new stress, i told her we were moving but we weren't moving a month ago when his numbers got out of control! So we got sent home with some Feliway diffuser for the new place. She also said she was willing to bet big money that my dad is a food enabler and that Leo has him wrapped around his paw, she said that i need to sit my dad down and have a chat about not feeding Leo so much. So all in all Leo is too fat and needs to lose weight. I'm embarrassed to say that he weighs 19.5lbs. :oops: :oops:

Oh and we talked about acromegaly as well, she said he doesn't present with any of the classic symptoms, big head, big paws, etc.

Hi guys .. Oh leo .. I can't believe your momma posted your weight like that! :oops: I think it's definitely time to sit DGpa down and tell him you've got to be looking good for the ladiez this summer .. I'm glad to hear his teeth are looking good and I hope that your move is stress free for all involved .. have a great day!

Good luck on the move tomorrow. Even though he may mot show it Leo knows something is up, stress is very likly a factor, hissing at the clock is a good indicato. Besides ahe was green yesterday and so add bounce into the mix. Mr. L hasn't been used to that lately. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

This is just Leo's winter weight. Once he's back outside and hunting, he will be svelte. (Unless DGP keeps encouraging snacking.)

I would also make sure that your dad knows what's an OK and not OK snack/treat. You might want to take a look at the obesity section on Dr. Lisa's site.

Good luck with all the packing. It could be stressing him out some - my cats always hated it, until they realized they were moving too, and we were still there. I hope the felway stuff helps his nerves...

Leo? VETTY! I a rounding up the KTSS as we speak. Ad Then - you are coming with us! We gots a cool day ahead: the market here - they make their own cheese, and it's right next to the ice cream place where they make their own there too. Pssst.... don't tell your bean - it doesn't quite fit in with the diet stuff... ~~ Mannie

Oh my! Leo, you are a big boy. I bet the vet is right. DGP is so sweet and Leo knows how to work him. I agree with Sienne. Once spring is here and he is outside all the time he will shed that weight quick. Until then, I guess you get to try to have a heart to heart with DGP. Good luck!

Hi Tracy, I don't mean to rain on your parade but our vet kept saying that Zener's teeth were OK then we insisted on a dental and she found resorptive lesions on 2 teeth that were extracted. I think she found them with x-rays. Just something to consider. Good luck with the move! Ugh, not much fun unless Leo likes boxes and hiding under papers. :-D

When Leo can go outside all the time and hunt mice, he'll drop those extra lbs. Fresh mouse is the best food for kitties, right Leo?

That mean lady called me FAT, :evil: then she touched my belly and my mouth and i tried hissing and slapping her but my mom held my paws down. :roll: Then they took me in the back room and shaved my neck and took stuff outta ME!!! It was unbelievable but i didn't make a sound to show how brave i was. Then i came home and helped pack my stuff, then my uncle and cousin came over to do some stuff.....i dunno what they did cause i got locked in the bedroom. I'm ready to for a pike picnic, i can eat whatever i want....what my bean doesn't know won't hurt her......heeheehee :twisted:

Whew!! Packing and cleaning is all done, my mom is gone home, and now i've just gotta focus on the vacuuming when everything is out tomorrow. I still have no idea what i'm going to do with Leo while the movers are here, maybe put him in my vehicle with his lb? Or leave him in his cage in my bedroom? I seem to think having complete strangers around will make him a little stressed for sure so i'm leaning towards him camping out in my vehicle for a few hours. My brother and nephew were just here and took 2 truckloads full of stuff to go into storage out at my parents place.....i sure did accumulate a lot of $H*T while i've been living here and it sure does feel good to be rid of all that stuff, feels like its going to be a fresh start! :-D

I sure do wish Leo would just settle down and quit all this bouncing business, i think i'd like to give him 1 more increase to try and bring his overall numbers down, but i'll wait until Thursday if i do decide to increase him.

Tracy, I can't believe you embarassed the heck out of Leo by posting his weight! Glad to hear the vet visit went well and Leo sure sounds like he knows how to behave at the vet. Good luck on the move and I agree with you that it might be better to keep Leo in your car instead of around all the commotion.
 
Good luck with the move tomorrow. If it were Mookie I'd keep him inside (maybe a closet?) so he could hear my voice, but you know your cat best and what he needs to feel safe and secure. You'll have to be very firm with GP on the no-snacks rule!
 
Glad the vet visit went well. I'd probably lean towards the car (as long as it's not hot) so you know a removalist isn't going to open the wrong door at the wrong time and then Leo will be all ready to go as soon as you are too so no extra moving of him. Just don't tell DGpa where he is or he might feel the need to take him snacks!

You have to spread your love around amongst many don't you Leo so you need a bit of extra you to spread.
