Lola, queen of FF!

I hope everyone has had a great week. We have been.... well, busy again! :woot: I just can't imagine not being on the go. :) It keeps us out of trouble, and makes for great times. ! I often think back on the weeks happenings, and wonder how in the world did we do all that! :woot: o_O:joyful: It was the same this past week. We just seem to pick up and go each day, no questions asked, since we all know FUN AWAITS! I have unfortunately been fighting a cold this past week, so that has made it all a bit challenging, but all still went well. I will have to thank William for this one, who got it from Nicholas, who got it from school.:rolleyes::rolleyes: SO goes life when the kids enter school, and bring it all home. :banghead:  :):):):). oh well... we continue to keep on truckin'! I am grateful for all those that help us on a daily basis, including my local barista! It cracks me up when I walk in that door and my order is already in the works. Life is very good!

It has been a good week in the pool. It has just become the norm for us, we go each week, and just never tire of it. It proves to be such fun for both boys, and their excitement with it all has not wavered. :):joyful::cool: We still hope to have Nicholas in lessons by summer. As I wrote last week, this past week I have been taking him to watch what goes on in a class that is much like the one he would be in. We spend about 10 minutes watching class. He was able to stand next to the class and observe. He really liked what he saw, so I am hoping with repeated visits to class session he will finally agree to take the placement test, and join class. So far this approach is working!:cool::cool::cool: Paws crossed. William is also doing well. The last time we swim he was repeatedly asking to swim in the big pool. This has not changed. YAY! :) I am thinking of extending the time we are there into the next big pool open time so he can do that. He will be so much like Nicholas when it comes to pool stuff. He just loves it all as much as his brother. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Night were our swim days this week. The Friday Night Burger Feast for Nicholas, after his swim session at the Snohomish pool, will be always on the highlight list. He looks forward to this every week, starts asking about it on Wednesday when he first sees me. He just LOVES those cheeseburgers with extra pickles! :woot: GO NICHOLAS, GO WILLIAM!

Nicholas, in the lazy river, after a major bucket dump!

The boys and I continue to be very busy. :joyful: Our weather has dictated alot of what we do, and even with that we still have great times. We have come up with a great list of indoor places, and this week we used them when we needed too, when the weather was questionable, which was most of the week! ;) We have been to the Imagine Childrens Museum, The Pacific Science Center, and the Seattle Aquarium. I wrote this last week, but it continues to be true, and probably will for some time to come. I find it challenging, amusing, and so so predicable with the boys now, in that they do have at times different opinions on what they want to do and see while at a specific place. William is so much more vocal now, and does make a point of stating, in his own way, what he wants. On the trails, I get alot of Nicholas wanting to go this way, William the other. At the Aquarium, Nicholas wanted the anemones, William the jelly fish and the waterfalls. At the Science Center William wanted the music center, Nicholas the Waterworks. At the Childrens Museum, Nicholas wanted the airplane, William the trains. It is so fun to be pulled in two different directions now. :woot: Both boys are learning the art of compromise, sharing, and working together, and giving in sometimes. ;) It has been fun. :joyful: Wednesday afternoon after Nicholas's swim we sent some time with my DMIL, Connie. The boys just love that time with her. It is nice to have her back helping with the boys care.

Nicholas and William, working the trains at the Children's Museum. FUN STUFF!

Wednesday was such a fun day. The boys stayed for a sleepover, as their mom and dad had an evening class to attend. What a fun time! We were able to stay a little later at the Imagine Museum, it was so nice not to have to rush home. We had a burger and fries dinner, per Nicholas's request. He also wanted a bath... really a bath? True! But only if he could have one in my kitchen sink.:joyful::joyful::joyful::woot: We did this once a long time ago, and he hasn't forgotten it. so.... baths in the sink! They had a great sleepover, both boys sleet well, catching up on their sleep.

and just for fun... William is very much like his brother, and has discovered the joy of being barefoot. Who needs socks? Nick continues to be busy with the camera: flowers at Connie's, and the aquarium.

For my own personal time, I continue to hike the local trails here when I can. I still haven't made that mountain hike, but all in good time on that one. ;) There have been appointments on my days off, and the weather took care of the others, so this past week I've spent doing alot of the local stuff, Mainly Meadowdale, with some time at Juanita Bay too. I did take a road trip on Tuesday, to check out the places that the boys and I usually go too, river wise: Beckler River, Skykomish River, Eagle Falls, and the Big Eddy. They are now snow free, so once it warms up just a little more we can start to go back there. YaHOO!

Normalcy in MusketeerVille :cat::cat::cat::cat: How cool to be able to day that. :joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful: Elsa is dong well. She is eating better since I have been trying to get more food in here get some weight back on her, it is a slow process, but seems to be working, I think too that she really likes the individual attention. She is glad that we are warming some, do get a few weather breaks, so she can spend some time 0utdoors. At least she no longer wanders in her old age, we can always see her, so I don't worry too much. Well, just a little. ;) Bug is doing great! He is such a love bug, and so reminds me of Mannie. They do/did so many things the same. I have a fleece blanket that I use in the evening when I am unwinding on my sofa, watching TV, reading, etc. He just loves that thing, and as soon as I have it out, he is on top of it, making biscuit after biscuit. And the purrs! I love that time. He still continues to use Mannie's beds, and recently has taken on the role of nanner protector. WHOA! Could be be developing another Nanner king? Time will tell, and stayed tuned.... Lola is, well... Lola. She is still my early morning lap warmer as I work on the computer. She never misses, curls up, purrs the morning away. I love that time when she is "normal":joyful::joyful::p:cat::cat::cat::woot: and the rest of the day? still chasing her tail :woot:, still walking my high off the ground railing, :nailbiting:, still riding my frig door , still ripping up and left out paper , still pounding any glass type surfaces o_O, still eating and ripping up my plants  . Lola is... well, Lola. She really is, in all seriousness, a joy to care for. She makes life fun. I wrote this last week, but it is just the way things are here: Elsa grounds it in reality. Bug adds that element of comfort and reassurance. :joyful: For this week: a for sure on that normalcy in MusketeerVille. :cat::cat::cat:
and for old times sake... Mannie, CEO, Flying Cat Coffee Company!

Have a great Caturday everyone! Today has been catchup day here. Shopping and laundry done, and just being a little lazy. I hope to get out for a walk after I post this, for some fresh, though wet, air, and to exercise the legs some. It is shaping up to be a sunny day here, so one must hit the trails! :joyful::cool:

KITTIES!! Remember: BLUE, think GREEN :cat:

Lola sure has claimed that FF! I love the pic of Nicholas in the water dump and the wanting baths in the sink is too funny :woot: although Nicholas barely fits now! I also love the Mannie chef pic :) So nice to hear that you've had another wonderful week :):)

I love the picture of Lola. She's so beautiful. Nice Mannie Chef picture too. How funny the boys wanted baths in the sink. It sounds like a fun week, except for the cold. I hope you're feeling better. I hope you got out for a walk somewhere today.

@Vyktors Mum Hi Serryn :coffee::) Lola LOVES her FF! Every time I bring in a box like that she claims it. The sink thing was a hoot, boys loved it. ad why not so fun things while at grammie's. :woot: THX too on the pics, and the week. it was indeed a good one!

@carfurby Hi Carla :):coffee: THX on Lola, I think she is too. She has such pretty markings. I thought it funny that the boys remembered the last time we did that: sink baths over a year ago. Guess it must have been a ton of fun back then. :) THX on the cold, we are slowly getting better! I did a short walk this afternoon, just to get out some, Sun was out, so it was nice.

Lola really is a beautiful cat! Boy, its been a long time since I've posted here, sorry. I usually just look at the pix on FB. Glad to hear all is well in Muskateerville. Getting the older ones to eat is such a challenge. I've just been reminded that cooked egg whites are great protein for cats, got to try that for Tess.

i hope you can get to the mountains soon.

Morning L&LL!!! :coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee:
looks like our barista is hard at work today.

@Ann & Tess no worries on the postings. I k now most people see the FB stuff daily, and this can be so redundant if one is doing that. THX On Lola, I think she is too: pretty, with the softest coat, extra long whiskers, and a personality to match what I believe to be her breed: Maine Coon, or at least part Maine Coon. I know on Elsa, I worry about her, she's skin and bones, and it is hard to get what I know she needs to eat into her. I had forgotten abut the cooked egg whites. I will have to try that with her. I wonder if she will like them. She can be so picky! So worth the try though. THX on the mtn visits. I think I can, soon. A few more weeks of warmer weather, and off I go. There is little snow on some of them so we should have a nice extended hiking season this year. WOOT! :woot: Up first: Eastern Washington and the deserts... YIPPIE!

Awesome pictures, as always! I remember that beautiful picture of Lola, and the boys area always great subjects for pictures!! And the classic Chef Mannie picture....just love it!

I hope your cold is better, but I know it won't slow you down anyway!! Have a great day, Michelle!

Hi Michelle,
You say you've been busy?? Sorry that you caught the boys' cold, but little kids are always getting colds from their friends and passing them along to their grammies! I'm impressed that you can be so active even with a cold (when I get a cold, it really knocks me out; fortunately I don't get very many!).
The swim pics are great. And the one of Nicholas in the lazy river is a prize. Lola is gorgeous. She certainly has a lot of Maine Coon in her. She looks a lot like Rusty.
It won't be long now before you'll be hiking in the mountains again. Those rivers are impressive. But they don't look like they would make for good paddling! (We call rivers like that "rock gardens".)
Love the pic of Chef Mannie presiding!!

Have a great week. Hope you get out to the mountains soon.

Ella & Rusty

Thank you Elsa! The coffee this week is great!

Yo Elsa, Do you have worms at your place? Thursday is the Full Worm Moon and we should party where there are worms. How would you, Bug and Lola like to host? Let me know. We can have the planning session on Wednesday in the tree house. A party there will be lots of fun, too.

~Rusty

@Amy&TrixieCat Morning Amy :coffee::coffee::coffee: THX on the pics. Lola makes the best photo subjects, seems she is always posing... ;) Well, yupp on the cold, still have it, but somewhat better. We just keep on going anyways.... :woot:

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) Hi Ella :coffee::coffee::coffee: So true on this cold, and it has been a doozie! I will be so glad when it goes away. :) It is so annoying,a s I really do not get sick. but... we take what meds we an so we can function, and get through the days I need to be busy with the boys etc. THX on the pics, I LOVE that one o Nicholas in the river. I got very lucky with that one. THX on Lola. I think so too on the Maine Coon part. She does kinda look like Rusty, doesn't she? LOL on the rivers, and right you are: gorgeous, but ROCKY, perfect example of rock gardens! :) I too love that Mannie pic, I think it was done my Tena.
Rusty! DUDE! WORMS???? we hadave TONS and TONS and TONS of worms! They are everywhere!!! It would be so cool to host the party, the treehouse would be perfect! We are all so excited. See you Wednesday in the treehouse for the planning party! ~~ Elsa, and Lola and Bug.
