Please someone look at her SS, what the heck is going on? I know enough about flat yellows that I was persistent in testing.. rubbed Karo on her gums & gave HC

Hmmm....Baby is done with this dose, that's what it tells me! I would consider a full 0.25u reduction instead of a shave. You don't want her shed to get ahead of you.

Nicole I know I am not one of the above mentioned but after looking at Baby's ss it is pretty clear to me that when she has a flat yellow cycle she means business the next cycle.
Look at 2/9 and 2/16. I think when she is flat yellow you need to get a +1 and +2. Baby may not drop for +1 but she may give you a better indication where she is headed at +2.
It seems when she has flat blue cycles she drops to the 40's.

Thanks, Miriam.. I do try to stay on top of her #s & fully understand her flat yellows mean business.. this is new for us though dropping so much from +1 to +3, I am trying my best.. I really am.. advice noted & thank you for your input too ;-)

I did the same thing today with Putty. I even noted in my condo that he had a flat yellow cycle which usually means he will drop and I missed getting a +2. He may not have dropped as low as Baby but if I had gotten the +2 I would have had know the direction Putty was going in.
For some flat yellow means an active cycle....for Baby she seems to drop 200 points...wow. :?

Looks like a repeat of yesterday's evening cycle, only more so! Keep testing and keep the gravy handy. Was it necessary to rub karo on her gums (rather than putting a drop in her food?) Just asking for my own clarification. Looks like a busy evening ahead!!

Ella.. I had to rub Karo on her gums because she refuses to eat when low.. she isn't a big eater anyway.. especially when low though.. I tried offering a drop in gravy, etc. but she was refusing.. so on her gums it went ohmygod_smile Repeat of last night is right! Another lesson learned though..

WOW, and another crazy night for you. Sure looks like she is done with this dose. Impressive. I think you do a great job with her. the only thing I would do differently is the +2. no expert here my any means, but I do love that test as it tells me where we are headed, especially since Mannie is a diver. Good luck tonight I hope she comes up soon.

Thanks everyone... if you look at my SS I do consistently get a +2 for her PM cycles.. I just didn't tonight..
Hindsight is always 20/20 recognition of the realities, possibilities, or requirements of a situation, event, decision etc., after its occurrence...
Earlier this week I was told I should have got a +1 & would have caught it.. tongiht I recognized flat yellows, I know Baby.. so I got a +1 that # was not an indication to get a +2, now we all know I should have.. I did get the +3 & am now monitoring, feeding & I promise she is in good hands.. I handle things imperfectly but do the best with what I know to do at the time ;-)

You are doing terrific!! You always do with Baby!!--It is very frustrating when your cat drops low & then eats 2 drops of gravy & nothing else!! I have tried everything with Moonie-about 20 cat foods, & there is NO HC or MC she will eat now--Maybe I'll try karo next time, & you should try the temptations??
We dont like to see our cats drop that low, but they arent hungry at those low numbers!
And when you get a 200's number, maybe you dont always get a +1, but usually a +2 is needed..
So next time you see a falt yellow or blue, Just double check!

Nicole: I understand it's frustrating. With a number that high, I'd probably have just done a +2 on Gracie and then seen where she would be but darn if they change on us and you think you know them and they fool you. Hang in there, sweetie....she's coming down the scale!!
