Things are calmer here in TrixieLand today, since we've had somewhat smooth gelcapping both last night and this evening. She was tense and at-the-ready, but it went down on the second shot both times, this averting hisses, swats, growls, and general displeasure for both kitty and bean. PHEW!

All else is well with Trix...happy appy and snuggles and heating vent worshipping at attempted master bedroom break-ins.

The bean is still suffering a little from Post Vetty Stress Disorder...."Is she eating normally? Acting normal? Wait....what was that funny little thing she just did????" Argh :banghead::facepalm::banghead::facepalm:....it's really not THAT bad, but I do drive myself crazy sometimes, that's for sure!

Hopefully BW results will be in today, and hopefully vetty will call early with them. I'm off, but have errands to run - but I don't want to miss that call, so I'm not going anywhere until I hear from her. I'd have my cell with me if I run out, but I won't be able to really talk if I'm in a store when she calls.

With that, I had better get started with those household chores...never fun, but I am surrounded by kitties, so I really can't complain.

Have a great day, L&LL!

Amy

It looks like she's going to keep you on your toes today, Amy. LOL Still have my fingers, and Miss Blackie has her paws crossed for a very good BW report from your vet for Miss Trixie. Hang in there. :bighug: And try to not stress, or fret. I know... Easier said than done, right?

I'm not going to tell you not to worry about the results, because I've been there too many times lately. Just try to keep you mind busy and when you start to worry, look at your adorable furbabies, especially the one that, against all odds, is doing so very well! :cat: Enjoy your day at home with them!

Vet called a little while ago with Trix's results. I don't have the report in front of me yet (I'm waiting for it to come in via e-mail - and Trix's Labs Tab is out of date...I have some catching up to do), but basically her kidney values have improved slightly, although not as significantly as we were all hoping. I guess in general, though, any improvement is good news.

Vetty still thinks is possible Trix could have a stone. She still has blood in her urine, and it's hard to say if that's from the needle stick, a possible stone, or if the enteroccous hasn't fully cleared up. We're still waiting for the culture results.

She did say we could consider doing an ultrasound with a radiologist (as opposed to a US tech) for more detailed info. However, it really would just be for information purposes, as there really isn't much they can do for a cat with a stone. They can't blast it out like the do in humans, and they only do stents in emergency situations because it a risky procedure. So I'm not sure if doing a US is worth it.

I am definitely feeling my anxiety tonight, even though we have some improvement and Trix seems to be feeling fine. Can't help it...hopefully the anxiety will pass in a day or so.....

Sounds like you would do well with some rescue remedy :)

Yay for improved results. Not sure I would bother with an info only US, if there's nothing you can do who wants to know!

I'm glad Trixie's values showed some improvement. It sounds like the u/s may not be worth the money. I hope you get the culture results soon.

:bighug::bighug::bighug: I'm glad there is a little improvement. Better than numbers going up again. What a quandary on the U/S if there is nothing they can do for a stone and the stone is causing the elevated levels.

Sending many prayers for your peace of mind.
