Upped Tip's dose this morning. Hopefully she doesn't need it anymore. Still not sure if I should bother the vet again or not about getting her tested since I'm not sure if the vet will just give antibiotics or actually go for the tests. The vet is great, but that doesn't mean she knows everything. I remember her mentioning something about a specialist in the area, but I'm not sure...hm.

Other than that, we had to have an exterminator over because the ants came back worse than ever. So far so good, but they said it might take several treatments. My grandpa's been hard at work making a hummingbird house for someone. I think that's really neat.

I'd lean to getting the test done. She may or may not test positive for anything, but if she does test positive for acromegaly, there are a few other things that can be going on in Tips body to be aware of. For example, there can be soft tissue grown in the throat, so if she ever needs to go under anesthesia, they should look at using a kitten sized breathing tube. Antibiotics won't do a thing for it. My vet learned a lot about acromegaly with me - Neko was the first patient she knew about having it, but she since found a second. Just remember that the vet is working for you. If you want the tests done, that is what she should do.

No green tonight though...

I can push to get it done then. I've had the money since last month when I brought Christmas in for check-up, and decided to just hold on to it. So at least that isn't an issue anymore. The soft tissue won't hurt her any though, right? I know it can't be treated with antibiotics, the vet did give them though for a suspected UTI at the time. I think I'll call sometime soon then and see to getting the tests done.

I don't think Neko had soft tissue in the throat issues. I've heard some acrocats have stridor, which is noisy inhaling of breath and that is probably due to the narrower throat. Don't think it hurts though. Other soft tissues can be things like larger paws, jaws. The internal medicine vet I talked to said the most important thing is to keep the diabetes under control, so you are doing that.
