Let me pre-face with WOW I'm already getting excited about Lantus. We just switched from ProZinc where we battled some insulin resistance and then some extreme pendulum swings. Switched because of the gentle nature of Lantus.
So Marley is supposed to get his shot and I'm stalling. Last ate 2 1/2 hours ago. I have read the dosing methods (will update my signature once I post) and I know it recommends initially not shooting for the first time under 200, but with me switching from a different insulin and a history of failed dose reductions/poor time with not shooting, would this still be the case? Or should I give a token dose? I know the point is to shoot low to stay low, so I would be happy to shoot a token dose and I'm around all day to monitor, but I wanted to get your input.
I'll be testing again in 20 minutes, but in case he doesn't come up, I wanted this to be posted.
