Sam tested 451 this morning. I'm thinking about giving him 0.75u for 1 more day and perhaps chaning dose tomorrow what do you think? I heard it's best to keep the same dosage for a couple days before changing it but I don't know if it's the same with prozinc.

I think I would stay with the .75 one more cycle. Any chance you can get a +5-7 number? That would let us see whether he is just flat or if he dips down low at nadir and then jumps back up.

It looks like his cycle isn't flat, but he does have room to move down (assuming that he climbs from now to pmps) The one unit seemed too high. The .75 not quite enough. What do you want to do? Choices include a .8 or a .9 (pretty much a skinny one unit) If I were you, I would want to be around during the cycle to monitor at least at midcycle if I increased the dose. Other choice is to wait a cycle or so on .75 to see if he is a cat that needs to settle into a dose.

As you see Nadja, this is not an exact science. More of a try and see. What are you thinking?

Whatever you decide will give you data you can use. And you know how to manage the lower numbers if you see them.

I think I will go with 0.80u but I wonder if 0.05 will make any difference though :/ I can do it tomorrow and monitor him every 2 or 3 hrs.
I have an appointment with my vet on Wed. I wonder what he will say about me experimenting dosage without his consent ..!

Surely he will see you had no choice. Take your spreadsheet along and show him the strange cycles and numbers Sam got at first. Hopefully he will be impressed.

You may still have to increase again, but better slowly than fast. You can always increase but once the insulin is in the cat, you can't get it out again!

yes I hope he is impressed if not oh well. I'm looking at Sam's best interest

I think I will try 0.9u then and see what happens!!
