Re: 2/27 Daphne AMPS 161, +8 71, +10, 60, PMPS 74, +2 52
Well, I always say, I don't want to give advice because I'm too new. But for this subject I must at least share. My uncle gave me a pen of 2013 exp., of insulin, so wow, great he didn't need it, and it had a good expiration date, so I said lots of thank you's and put in my fridge.
So my advice is NEVER, EVER, TAKE INSULIN FROM AN 88 YEAR OLD UNCLE THAT SAID IT WAS GOOD. Yup kept in fridge, not opened. It turned out to be bad, and so again, ADVICE, think about how an 88 year old may think and do,... probably went to Walmart, left the pen in the 100 degree temps, for an hour or so… or, went to Walmart and left the pen in the car with the temps being 2 degrees outside, either scenario, not a good thing! I really don't know what happened, but next time, I will get the insulin from the Vet script, to the pharmacy, and pick it up myself, from the pharmacy. Hope someone can benefit from my experience and actually nothing horrible happened, except Daphne's numbers went crazy for two days, but she's back to normal (anit-jinx) today.
