2/27 Cleo AMPS 63 +5.5 42 +6 53

Have you taken to testing yourself? I don't think you have a civvie, do you? Or has Cleo taken over testing as well and is cooking the books? ;):p
:joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful: I have tested myself (most recently 2/26 PM) because I too have a tough time believing all the greens :p DH requests cross reference BGs with the AT2

Pm 2/25 and pm 2/26 she was fed at +4 and I left a heaping tsp of Weruva WX to snack on overnight. I'm figuring this is the reason for the greens amps.

TBH and since her recent blood work indicates she'll develop CKD within 24months, I'm just happy she's staying under renal threshold overall. :cat:

ETA if you can think of/suggest anything you think I could do, I m all EARS ;)

Just saw her labs. Creatinine of 2 is stage 2 CKD, but many cats stay in stage 2 for years. Are you feeding a low phos food? Did the vet say anything about the high HCT and the protein in the urine?

She had signs of a cold, sneezing, slight nasal clear discharge a couple of days before the blood draw. We're feeding Weruva foods with phosphorus mostly under 180mg/kcal and the WX foods as after nadir snacks since mid January. He said the high HCT with some of the other results indicate that she was dehydrated so we're adding more water to her food. He said not to restrict protein in her diet yet, just lower the phosphorus since the SDMA is right under the threshhold. He said he wasn't ready to stage the CKD without repeat labs but current labs point in that direction :(.
Her temperament would not allow a blood pressure check .
Repeat labs are to be done in July/August. He said overall she looks good and is very strong , increase hydration and lower phosphorus.

Is he not telling me something?

ETA after blood work we took away the Ziwi peak pates and the Koha foods bc phosp was over 250mg/kcal in all flavors. She now has a myriad of Weruva foods.

No. He is on the right track. High HCT can be due to dehydration and you don't want to feed renal food at such an early stage of CKD. So low phos, low carb and extra water is good. :)

Maybe next time, give her a little gaba to calm her down so she will allow a BP check? Hypertension is one of the causes of proteinuria but infection/inflammation can also give a false positive result.
