This cat is messing with me. We really need a *beats head against wall* smiley.

I am considering not shooting today and seeing how well she clears this bounce on her own. She zoomed down yesterday and then shot back up - 0.1 units of insulin is a powerful force in this kitty. :roll:

I dunno. Anyone have any thoughts?

I always felt that Bailey would be a good one to go OTJ, but just remember, good things are worth watitng for, and this little blip, wont ruin the whole event--Paws & Fingers crossed for a good outcome--Hugs & Love from us!

Wow, that cat is totally messing with you. Maybe she needs some assurances that she'll always get attention, no matter what! Don't sweat it too much, Melissa- remember to breathe.

Just that Morgaine's numbers have been crazy and unpredictable too. Maybe it is in the stars! :o Gotta keep us on our toes :smile: .

It's ok, Melissa. Just a tad more insulin for a bit more might be what she needs as long as there is no way she could have gotten into any thing.

And in case the hitting your head against the wall emoticons are not enuff...here are a couple of my personal favorites ;-) :-D

I asked DH and yes, she escaped to the basement yesterday while he was doing laundry! (There is kibble in the basement!) He doesn't know *for sure* if she ate any, but she had access and she is a kibble-holic. I bet that's what's going on!

So should I plan on holding out, or going back on insulin for a little while?

I'll be interested to see the advice you get on this...
Lil bugger B got into some artichoke hearts with sugar added during his trial, but it was midway through, didn't skyrocket him past the yellows-
so I was advised to wait it out.

But it cleared right away, and for Binks...kibble used to last 38 or more hours.

If there is one "truth" to FD, if there is kibble anywhere in the house, your diabetic cat will find it and eat it. It doesn't even matter if it's kitty kibble -- it can be the dog's kibble. It's kitty crack. Donate the kibble to a local shelter. Get it out of the house.

Do you have any more data from today?

At this point, I'd suggest going back to square one -- the trial starts with your first green pre-shot unless there's a huge drop by your pre-shot test.

I wish I could get rid of all kibble. My mom lives in an apartment in our basement, and feeds her cat kibble. Unless I want to take over feeding Tabby, I don't think that's going to change. We also have dog kibble, she hasn't tried to eat that yet! It's big dog kibble though, the chunks are probably too big for her.

No more tests from today, Sienne. DH is sleeping and I am still at work. (We are slow tonight. :oops: ) Our PMPS isn't for another 2ish hours.

Starting over sounds like a plan to me. Crazy cat. :roll:

Marje, that was a good reminder... at least it wasn't a lancet!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

So, you're going to shoot unless there's a huge drop or a green PMPS. Just a 'heads up' -- please test if you shoot. Just because you may have a high pre-shot, don't assume it will stay that way. If the kibble clears at the same time the Lantus kicks in, numbers could come down in a hurry.

So, how about making sure your mom keeps the kibble in a kitty proof container and doesn't free feed or that Bailey isn't given visiting privileges.

Bailey most certainly does not have visiting privileges. :lol: :lol: She will sneak down there in a heartbeat if the door isn't closed properly - this was a hooomin error!

No big drops so I went ahead and shot!! We will see what she can accomplish with help from a little Lantus.

the good news is that you know what happened, melissa. and wow - let's just say that bailey is sensitive to these carbs! so glad you figured it out. these hooman errors happen!

perhaps you can make the fine for allowing bailey access is that person has to take care of bailey for the next 48 hours - testing, shooting, posting for advice, etc.! :lol: that or buy you a massage for all of your stress and work! :-D
