Morning everyone. Well she had a good night and actually saw some blue numbers. She was 169 at +8 and she ate a bit. This morning she is 226. I gave her the 1 unit. She's had all her meds but really isn't interested in eating yet. SHe took a couple of bites and that was it. I'm hoping and praying that she will eat after awhile when they kick in. I have to go out in a little while and I will get the ingrediants for the liver shake then. I'm feeling really frustrated right now. If she doesn't eat I don't know what I'll do.

Barb: I'm glad Tori is home and hope she will start eating for you. Her number is really good considering all she's been through. Come on sweet Tori...don't worry your mamabean...she has enough to deal with.

I'm so sorry to hear about Daniel. I wish I could give you a real hug instead of a virtual one (((Barb)).

Hi everybody. Well Tori is not doing all that well. She hasn't wanted to eat by herself. I force fed her at supper. The Mirtazapine has done nothing but make her vocal in the morning. SHe peed on my mat by my bed. I'm worried that she might start to get dehydrated so I am going to start giving her fluids again. Doug had said yesterday that he didn't think she would need it. But that was yesterday and today is today. I am going to make up a batch of the liver shake as well and hopefully that will tempt her.

I am so frustrated and yes scared. I feel that we are going backwards here. Of course it's the weekend again. Never fails. Besides I don't know what else we can do. It's kind of up to her now I guess. I'm doing everything I can.

I feel unbelievably stressed right now. Having a hard time keeping my cool and being able to think straight. Please say a prayer for us . OK?

((((Barb & Tori)))) We are sending our prayers and anything else that will help your girl feel better and start to eat. Come on, Tori, there's a delicious liver shake waiting for you and your mamabean loves you and wants you to eat.

Hang in there Barb, you're doing your best. Sending eating vines for Tori, and of course positive thoughts and prayers! I hope she will be tempted by the liver shake.
 
Well I made up a batch of the liver shake. It really is revolting looking and smelling to me anyway but the kitties found it quite appealing. I put the 10cc on a plate and Tori lapped it up without hesitation. Hopefully she will hold it down . Lord only knows what it will do to her sugars but she needs something in her tummy so I will just have to monitor and up her dose if needed. Priority right now is get her over the flare. The instructions say to give 10cc 3-6 times per day. SO i think I will aim to give it q4 hourly til tomorrow night.

Has anybody ever used this before? How long is the batch good for before you have to throw it out? The recipe made about 500cc so I would think refrigerated it could be good for a couple of days.

I think in a little bit I will go to bed for a while and get up at her +6 to retest and offer some more food and shake. Poor baby girl I just want her to feel better.

i'm so glad she's eating the liver shake! wish i knew, but i have no idea how long it's good for. she might just regain her appetite after a few feedings. crossing fingers, toes, and paws here.
i hope you can get some rest...
 
Edward liked the liver shake recipe so much that he told all our friends about it!! I'm glad Tori likes it, too! (sorry, don't know how well it keeps in the 'fridge).

since it made so much, I would take out what I need for now and freeze the rest in small batches. so glad she finally found something tempting
