2-26 Sam tested super high this morning!!

Sam tested 535 this morning! I tested him the first time and he was 565 then I did it again.
Why is that? :sad:
This morning I will try giving a new dose 0.75u. Let's see what happens :/

Your dose is a good choice. I am guessing you are seeing a bounce from yesterday. He wasn't used to a low number and bounced up temporarily. It's pretty common. (We have nicknamed Lisa's Cassie -bookworm- Tigger) Let's see how he does today. Every Cat is Different in how they react to a lower number - some take a while to get back to normal, some are fine the next cycle.

The other factor is that we stayed with a safe dose last night. (It is SO much easier to be a little daring during the day.) Maybe it wasn't quite enough insulin and it ran out by +12.

It is, but you are on a tiny dose and he is getting good numbers. You are doing great so far.

Someone said FD was like a huge learning curve at first. I agree but like the roller coaster analogy better.

Not awful considering how far he had to come down, and with the possibility of a bouncy day of numbers.

Now, to consider. One unit got him down to beautiful nadir numbers but if you haven't given the gravy, he might have dropped down lower than you want. So, you can try the .75 again and see how it works. If he is higher than you'd like the next few cycles, we could try somewhere between the .75 and one.

The good news is how far you have come since we were nervously trying to keep him high enough for 24 hours and his curves were crazy! Now we are wondering between .25 unit doses.

I just wonder if he will go lower towards the end of the cycle. I will most likely give him 0.75u again tonight and change between 0.75 and 1u tomorrow morning.
True the gravy situation helped him not drop lower than 65 which is quite scary!!
 
I just tested Sam and he is 387. I need to give his shot in 30 min, he is eating now. So should i give 0.75u tonight then?
How long should I give him 0.75u? I was trying to find out if with prozinc I should give the same dose for few days before chaning dose. Any thoughts?
