Yesterday was..... "I don't have Cushings" day, as well as PINK, RED AND BLACK DAY, with a splash of yellow. He is, no doubt still bouncing from all those greens the night before, and the dramatic fashion in which he got there, the FDMB Olympic Diving Champion was in prime form and took a very nice dive to get to that lagoon. It was no surprise that the next morning found him beyond the stratosphere... like the alpha zone. Yesterday we are still playing on the red floor as a result of that gorgeous dive.  I hope for a good day today, more blues would be so cool! Mannie - here's to you, some very strong feel better, be blue vines. Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

Mannie's Cushings test did come in: Negative. OH HOORAY. Here is what I wrote yesterday, after talking with the IM Vetty:
AND !!!!! CUSHINGS TEST WAS NEGATIVE!!! WOOT WOOT WOOT WOOT! I'm a bit unclear on the specifics, but his reading was a 5, and I guess anything over a 13 is considered positive. SO... A relief there. It is beginning to look like he has aldosteronism, which summed up is an excessive concentration of the hormone aldosterone. Which affects alot of things.... including hypertension. anyways we will be adding a new med (spironolactone SP??) to the mix to try and control that. I'm told this med will help with potassium retention and sodium excretion. that's about all I know, at this point, and I have reading to do... very techie stuff!     We will run with this med mix for two weeks and then retest potassium levels ad his BP. Paws crossed folks that this works.... I am so relieved that we are not dealing with Cushings... though I wonder how much better this DX is. ;-)

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D It was a quiet day yesterday in MannieLand. We had somewhat of a decent weather day, with even come sun breaks. Mannie made a trip out onto the deck to get his yard sniffs in. I love to watch that little nose work overtime.  Mid afternoon a sunbeam dound its way tot he top of the stairs. I had to laugh - it was like a alarm bell went off, alerting him to sun beam activity. he was there as soon as it showed up.  The rest of the ay was spent napping, in his bed, or with the nanners. It was a so so day for Mannie. He seemed to feel OK, just a little subdued. Appy has been good (picky !!!, but good), CPC yesterday and this morning, LB is normal, Ketones tests have been negative. Test was good this morning, as was the shoot. I think I can still say: Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Have a great day everyone. Today they start work on the drainage system her at the house. I expect a mess... lots of digging, lots of dirt piles, lot of ugh! I will be glad when ti is completed and my yard can once again be "normal". :-D This morning I am having breffis with my son - woo hoo! Looking forward to that.

*** YAWN*** .... Hey everybody!! I am sooooooooooooooooooo tired!!!! what a day yesterday - THREE parties! How did we do it all? TWO OTJ's!!! The full moon party at the Castle was so cool. I so hope to go back to NYC today and hang out with Rusty. We so need a chillaxin' day..... Rusty! DUDE! Where can we chillax in NYC??? uhhhh.... it's NYC - maybe we don't want to. :-D See you guys soon! ~ Mannie

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361

Morning Michelle ~O) ~O) and that sure was great news yesterday with No Cushings disease. We were all doing the happy dance for you and Mannie. On the aldosteronism, that is all new with me, and I'm learning a lot on your condo. Sending some good vines the new med will help. I'm sure there are some here or on health with experience with it I bet. CPC is good news and I think picky fuds must be going around LL, as Mags only wants her old flavor back! :? Are they conniving? Good luck with the drainage today. Enjoy breffifs with your son.
Mannie, thanks for the coffee and yum on the scones and croissants.
Hey Mannie, yay for NYC again today, as I'm still hungry for those NYC hot dogs. We need to just chillax today. I think there's a radiator at his stay place, too. See ya at the curb, mags

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361

BIG RELIEF!!! :-D :-D :-D Like Ann, I don't know anything about aldosteronism but it's gotta be better than Cushings. And look at you this morning, Mannie, that's a good place to start. Let's see some yellow or maybe blue, 'k?
Liz

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) yupp, so glad we do not have Cushings. The aldosteronism one is also not good, but more treatable I think that the Cushings. The meds for cushings are hard on the system ones, this new one should be easier for him to handle, so a big relief there. And yes, I should post on health, see what I can learn there. Yupp, a big case of picky eater this AM: 4 cans it took before I found the right one. There must be a conspiracy going on in LL: picky eating!  THX on today - breffis is always fun, and the yard will be a mess , but I will be so glad when it is fixed. YAY!!
Auntie Ann - you are so welcome! I lubs the croissants too - loaded with butter! :-D Primo! ~~ Mannie, kitteh barista

Morning Liz ~O) ~O) ~O) Yupp, I'm learning on it all. and I think just about anything is better than cushings.... :? It seems to be treatable enough, so we hope and keep on truckin'. I will tell Mannie all hope for yellow and blue today. Perhaps he is listening this morning. Right Mannie?

Maggie! Me too!!! I LUBS them hot dogs - lots of sauerkraut too! and spicy mustard. YUMMMMMMMMMM! maybe we can camp out in central park, eat hot dogs, and watch the tourists... OH! maybe huh on a radiator at Rusty's! See you soon, picks you up at the curb. ~~ Mannie

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361, +2 415

415 @ +2. hmmmm... normal food spike, so I HOPE he will head back down. Right Mannie?

Morning Bruce ~O) ~O) ~O) Many thanks - I am too. It is a relief, and now we deal with the other thing. Paws crossed on that. THX too on the rest. Things are good so far for him today.

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361, +2 415

Yay for NO CUSHINGS!!! :-D :-D

Good Morning, a somewhat better start for Mannie, even after all that party activity last night. Chef Mannie, you were superb! And you still had time for coffee deliveries this morning!! The espresso was delicious.

Enjoy lunch with your son, Michelle, and good luck with your heavy reading.

Ella & Rusty

Chef Mannie, what a great job you did last night. Oh, man, were those fuds ever spectacular! Today we can definitely chillax in th e City, i thought a double-decker bus tour during which we can relax and eat the party leftovers. What do you think?
Your pal, Rusty (I'm glad you don't have Cushings)

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361, +2 415

Good Morning Michelle......I'm still happy about yesterday's non-diagnosis
I bet Mannie has already headed down, and is going to have a nice, mmmmmm yellow day. :-D

Hope you're off having a nice breffis with your son.

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361, +2 415

Yay for no Cushings!!! Now come on down Mannie. Let's see some yellow today k? Tarragon is waiting for you. Have a great day Michelle!

Hey mannie! I am so tired! But it's NYC dude. We got to go and enjoy it. We could just hang out at Central Park or at the wharf. - Tarragon

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361, +2 415

Hi guys .. I am so happy to hear that mannie does not have cushings! Now we just need to get him a GPS unit, cause he seems to always head off in the wrong direction lately .. time to turn it around mannie! have a great day guys!

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361, +2 415

OK, waiting here for another test! That just has to be a food spike and we want to see Mannie on the way down.

Good idea to head out to breakfast w/ DS and avoid all that mess in your yard! ;-) Have a Relaxing day and breathe again. I know it has been so hard waiting for those test results!

Mannie! Chillaxin' is just what we need! Naps on the bus! And we can take turns at the Library, posing w/ Patience and Prudence, then sneaking in for a nap in Uncle Edwardbean's lap! -- Tess

Mannie! Thanks for the Double shot espresso, beansfrom high in the Andes Mountains! And those croissant! Flaky and Perfect! -- Auntie Annbean

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361, +2 415

Yes, anxiously awaiting the next test here too! Which way is he going to go? The crazy adventures of Mannie, we're all following along. Enjoy breffis with DS, and ugh on the drainage guys, but it's nice you have good enough weather for them to start, and soon it will all be over. No more worries about flooded basements!

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361, +2 415, +5 382

382 @ +5. Woo WOO HOO? I think so, we didn't head up, down a little, and I will hope for a slow slide into the yellows. Right Mannie? :-D ;-)

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) SO AGREED! no cushings - yeah, cuz that one is a bit scary.... It's not a great start this AM, but not worse either, so we hope he will find the yellows. We now have new meds on boards, hope it doesn't upset that BG's... in theory it shouldn't. THX on breffis, which was great, and that heavy reading...
Auntie Ella !! I so ad to make my deliveries, ya know? You guys deserve good ~O) in the morning. THANKS YOU too on the party fuds - it was fun, and I love sampling.... ~~ Mannie, kitteh barista

Morning Barb ~O) ~O) ~O) on me too on yesterday. Now to figure out what all to do with what they have DX'd. Now we start a new med, hope it works, and no side effects.... Paws crossed! I hope so on the yellow day - he seems to be headed there, slowly. :-D THX too on breffis - it was great!

Morning Melissa ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on all. I hope he can find the yellows... paws crossed. I will tell him Tarragon is waiting . Maybe that will nudge him in the right direction.

Morning Devon ~O) ~O) ~O) Me too on Cushings. I will laugh at the GPS - how many times I have said the same thing. He gets lost so easily... yes those kitties continue to let him drive the bus.

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) LOL on the next test, he did go down, though not by much. At least he didn't go up. ;-) I so hope he finds the yellows.... Oh yeah, breffis was great, came home to the guys getting started. So far?: minimal mess. I wonder how long that will last.  and thansk - will do on the realization, as you are right: the stress has been off the charts. The stress level is down some, even though we still have the aldosteronism to deal with now. I hope the meds turn the corner for him.
Auntie Ann - SWEET! i so lubs croissants... they was good then? YIPPIE I am one happy barista now. :-D :-D :-D :-D ~~ Mannie, kitteh barista

Morning Anne ~O) ~O) ~O) LOL on the next test. Not as good as I had hoped, but at least it isn't up... I so know on Mannie, the adventurer... even with his BG's that fits. where will he go now. never did follow the rules that silly kitty! THX on teh rest - breffis was great, and so far all is well with the drainage guys. Paws crossed there too. OH YES (!!!) on the no more flooded basement!!!

Tess!!! I likes that! nappin' on the bus. COOL! OOOOO on the library- I likes that too. We gots to see our cousins! It will be fun to pose, hold real still, then move and scare the tourists. They is so silly... See ya soon. Can I ave first dibs on Uncle EdwardBeans lap? ~ Mannie

Mr T! - DUDE! Me too! I can hardly keep my eyes ipen... I so hope I made the right ~O) deliveries this morning... YUPP! NYC requires our presence, a for sure We gots a bus tour, and then central park. Chillaxin' there for sure. ~~ Mannie

Re: 2/26 Mannie AMPS 361, +2 415, +5 382, +8 425

Hey Mannie,

When you finish with the bus ride and nap on the radiators, we can do the Circle Line Ferry and tour all of Manhattan in style! You can even bring your cushions along so we have a comfy place to sit!  and then you can leave the cushions on the ferry so the beans don't get sore bottoms! ;-) ;-)

Doesn't that sound like fun, a nice boat ride around the island called Manhattan! We just need to make sure that Tess doesn't play Titanic, cause she certainly doesn't want to fall into the Hudson or East River! It's cold and nasty and who knows what floating in there!

my bean says thank you for her tea and scones today! extra special yummy and cheery!

Signed Maui the Magnificent - a very beauty girlie......

Re: 2/26 Mannie PMPS 557, +2 598

598 @ +2. oh wow...   ok, tomorrow is another day. we start anew. :-D :-D

Hi carla - thx, and so do I. :-D

Hi Any - yupp, what an ugly PM cycle. heavy sigh from the bean. I so hope he can at least make pink tonight, sheshhhh!

Yikes Mannie, what's up? Oh, it's you up there. Neko went up during the day to find you but I guess she couldn't. Tomorrow is another day. Write off that cycle. I feel the same.

How is the digging going in the yard? Of course the rains had to start now that they are digging. I hope it isn't too much of a mess and things can be put back in place without leaving signs of trenches. The cats probably aren't impressed.

Hey Wendy - yupp. we forget about tonight, focus on the morning, and a new day. What a bummer tonight was... I an glad that Neko didn't spend too much time looking for Mannie... scary up on "that floor" ;-)

Digging is progressing. We have asked for additional work, to replace a main water line to the house. it is something we know we would need to do in the future, so we tough why not now while all is being dug up... So today was exploratory for that. LOL: we do have trenches in alot of places.  We got lucky today: no rains! Not too sure that will hold for tomorrow... good thing those guys work rain or shine. and yes - the cats could have cared less - they didn't even investigate.

OH my! Mannie in red, poor thing! I am sure he is disturbbed by all that digging in his territory. I remembered the day when DH left home for his Taiwan trip in the morning during Rosy's test time. Out of nowhere she give me a red. That red has not been on the chart for a month. This showed that she's not happy with the papabean leaving with his luggage.
Try talking & explainning to him Michelle. Hope Mannie will come down to some nice blue numbers.

We had to get our water main replaced a little over a year ago - finished the day before Christmas. We went with something called pipe bursting technology. Basically they send something through the pipes that splits the water main and halls along the new one behind it. The result - no trenches! :-D Of course, part of the water main went under about 20 feet of our house so they would have had to jackhammer up that amount of cement flooring.... Good to hear the noise didn't bother Mannie.

Hi Helen - Many thanks - yupp, we talk to him all the time. He's good I think at listening. I sure hope things are better today.

Hi Wendy - oh wow. what a great way to go. At lease for us the main water line comes in near the side of the house, not under. A relief I think. And yes, it really didn't bother him. Slept through most of it, and all in all, they weren't that noisy, so far. :-D
