Its been a long day.... and i caused it all :(

Savvy had a very hard poop yesterday... and even though i know the Miralax works better... the last time i tried to put it in her food she wouldnt eat it... a first after years of eating it... and instead of just trying again yesterday i decided to give her a bit of Lactulose... only 1 mL....

I woke up at 530 and she was sleeping on me... didnt think anything of it... i should have... when her IBS gets out of wack she wants to be very close to me... the last couple months she hasnt been hiding or wanting to be with me all the time... i should have thought about it

630 F/T/S time and meds and breakfast for everyone....

i woke to two piles of very very soft poop... and Savvy is definitely out of sorts :(
she wouldnt even leave my couch to eat her breakfast i had to feed her on the couch and sit beside her to get her to eat... she hid under the couch for most of the day when she hasnt been on top with me....

i hate her hiding again... i shouldnt have given her the lactulose... the prescription is actually for 3 mL for her 2x daily... but she has never needed that much... just with this hairball issue we are still dealing with with her i thought it would help...

now i have a hiding scared kitty... i have gotten her to eat... to drink... i have gotten probiotics and fibre into her with this last meal... idk what to do to make her feel safe so she is hiding under the couch... i was only trying to help... idk what else to do about this hairball... the vet offered an xray but no guarantee a hairball would show either way... and i know from the way her stomach feels its a hairball...

Lincoln is high and flat still bouncing... everyone else seems to be good.. just my little girl... i have been fighting to keep her balanced for years... since she was a year old... and today i just dont feel like i am wining at all... if anyone has any ideas on how to get her to vomit a hairball... or how to make her feel safe when her guts are out of wack i would love some advice

praying everyone else is having a better sunday and that all kitties feel safe at home tonight :bighug::bighug::bighug:

sorry this was so long to anyone that read this[/URL]

really needed to vent... the the verge of tears and not sure how to help her and feeling very responsible for all of it

To quote the cat poster from the 70's "hang in there baby". My little ones BG is all over the place and I'm to blame for switching doses so I can relate to things not going as smooth as one would like.

Oh Amber I'm sorry you're having such a rough day but please don't be too hard on yourself; we've all tried things to help our kitties only to find out that perhaps it wasn't the best option. You were only trying to help Savvy. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh Amber what a day. Definitely a vent day. I've had plenty of those, too. But please don't berate yourself. Deep breath, gentle vines and broad shoulder vines heading your way....whoosh...speedy like.

How about SEB? SEB and plain pumpkin in food?

would try SEB but worried it would interfere with the other meds she is on right now ... there is pumpkin in one of her soft foods i feed her

Yes that's a factor with the SEB. Other than than the general suggestion that SEB be dosed in between other meds, I'm not one to be able to suggest re interactions etc.

Are you feeling a little better? How is Savvy doing? Sweet of Lincoln to be steady for you today.

Eta: I just saw your note about Lincoln bouncing. :banghead:
Vines heaps more of them your way.
:bighug::bighug::bighug::facepalm:

Savvy just ate some more be it under the couch... but has actually come out and gone to sit on her favourite pillow and is currently cleaning herself... first time all day!

Feeling much better now that she isnt hiding... i give SEB to Benson to help with his issues but he is on just the thyroid meds so easier to place in between his dosages... Savvy is on more then one at the moment... thank you all for the kind words and telling me not to be so hard on myself... as their caretakers we do so much and feel responsible for so much too

Lincoln just dropped a LOT in the first +2 so pretty sure it will be a long night... gave him some LC and will test at +3

Thank you all for the hugs i really did need them :bighug::bighug::bighug:

+3 79... he is in a hurry tonight... he had LC at +2... now just gave him gravy with 3 temptations... just trying to slow him down

Hi Amber,
How are you and your tribe holding up?
Glad to read that Savvy came out from under and began to resume her good ol' self routines.
How's Lincoln doing? Hope he begins to even out for you.
You have a hyperthyroid cat, too? Sootie's sister Guernsey was hyperthyroid, too.

Goodness, Amber! I had no idea you had civvies with such issues. I can totally relate - I had two FD kitties with other issues, and two civvies with cancer and other issues, all at the same time. I always titled my previous condos with "yesterday, at Tricia's House of Chaos". So I get it.

I'm sorry you have so much going on. Also sorry you didn't get any real answers to your questions. Definitely vent here. We get it.

Regarding Savvy: I'm assuming you've tried the usual methods for ridding kitties of hairballs: petromalt, vegetable oil, etc.?

Kept Lincoln safe... finally got 3 hours sleep between 330-630... laying back down for a couple hours now that i have t/f/s... Savvy went back under the couch after breakfast for some reason... but spent all of last night out so hopeful she will come back out soon... she must be experiencing cramping or something else with the IBD sending her under...

that made me laugh so thank you :) i was using petromalt and then the vet said to increase it by 3x and that gave her pudding poos and then she wouldnt eat it for me... i can get a little vaseline in her but she wont even touch that really now either... i gave a little butter but then vet said no cause of pancreatitis history with her... will google more things to try today i guess

will post todays condo when i wake back up... night all lol
