Skooter's momma frustrated condo (02/24)

Welpers, I won't be making it out the door by 6:15, but 6:30 is looking hopeful.....I have been trying to get to work a bit early each day as there is just so much going on right now, so far not doing great, today though, hoping to get there before 7....thinking a stop for a cider is in order, though :) We shall see...

Skooter is happily eating away and he only went up 1 from +7 to breakfast, so I will take that as a win.

Yay for Hump Day!!!

They are handy....I thought about getting one for my house, but I don't drink coffee at all....so I would get it for hot cocoa and cider in the winter months and seemed stupid to spend that kind of money for that lol

Who knows, I may end up getting one lolol

Uhhhhhhh, hot cider. Gotta get some apple cider. Pop it in the microwave, throw in a cinnamon stick, stir, slurp. Now that we finally have winter...I can do that. (Yeah, I know, but it's as close to cooking as I get.)

Enjoy the rest of your evening with Mr. Skooter-boy.

I feel your frustration, Molly. Sometimes I think it's harder to figure out what to do when they're so close! I had good luck in the past with upping Eddie's dose a smidge to pull down some of the higher numbers in his cycles. Usually just a few cycles at a slightly higher dose when I could monitor were enough to kick his little butt into action. Fingers crossed that the "fat" brings Skooter down just a hair.

I will be doing that consistently this weekend.....I know these aren't BAD numbers, but I just feel better when the green is the rule, instead of the exception.....

I am really, really trying to wear my patience pants, but I think they keep falling off....

I hear ya on the patience pants. I've burned through so many of them, I don't think anyone will loan me any anymore. LOL!

Out of curiosity, what carb percentage is the NV Chicken? The reason I ask is that I've started to get suspicious that Eddie needs a slightly higher carb level (like 5-6%) versus the ultralow carb stuff in the 0-1% range, to trigger his pancreas to release insulin appropriately, without going overboard on triggering the release of counterregulatory hormones. A healthy pancreas keeps things in equilibrium by constantly releasing spurts of insulin and then glucagon (to trigger the liver to release stored glucose), and back and forth, and so on, and I wonder if maybe some kitties need just a smidge more carbs to help encourage that equilibrium. Just a random thought....LOL

I *** THINK *** it is around 3% if I remember correctly. It is hard because with his IBD I don't like to introduce a lot of new things, but then again I was concerned about switching to an all wet food diet and he has done well...

There he continues his crawl up.....instead of frustrating myself more I am going to bed and hoping that he tapers off here soon and holds steady or comes down....at the rate this is going, I am not looking forward to his AMPS.....
